This is one of the most interesting winery tours you'll ever make. You really learn some history about California wine making from a pioneering winery. Don't just visit the winery.Take the tour! If you like Rhone style wines this is a must see and experience. And I recommend the reserve tasting.

Tablas Creek winery has a terrific assortment of French style Rhone wines, showing their influence from their partner winery in France. Our "pourer" was very knowledge of the wines she served and the processes they go through. There is a $10 tasting fee for 5 wines butit is waived with any purchase. The also offer a variety of other gifts... More

Server was honest, knowledgeable and informative about the region, wines and winery. She gave us the run down on past years of success and the years when the winery had to look elsewhere for fruit. Bottom-line it is going to more than a wet growing season to keep this winery from making great wines.

I don't know much about wine, and was sort of dreading taking a tour, but it was just 45 minutes and quite interesting. Lots of history in this vineyard, and the integrity of their sustainable organic production is an inspiration. I loved seeing him graft a vine before our eyes, and the rooms with the vats are amazing. As for... More

This was our second stop on our first day of visiting Paso Robles and the main event for the day. As it was Harvest Festival weekend, the tasting room as a bit busy by 1pm but they still had room for their 2pm tour so we signed up. We are so glad we did. Typically the tour would be talking... While there were many people just stopping by for a tasting on Tuesday, October 14th, the four of us were there for the tour AND a tasting (There are tours daily at 11 am and 2 pm). The whole tour and tasting (AND buying some wine) took about an hour and a half. The tour is free and the tasting... More

The scenic ride to Tablas Creek was a feast in itself, but the immediate surroundings are dessert. Add to that, a variety of delicious wines. Definitely recommend it as a destination!

What happened to Tablas Creek? Did ones the beacon of wine making in Paso Robles lost its way? Three of us tried six wines offered for tasting and not one was worth finishing the tasting glass. It felt like a desperate search for differentiation with so meager results. Nice people and a beautiful tasting room are the only reasons for... More

Tablas Creek is the best known winery in Paso Robles for Rhone varietals, and has done all sorts of important work over the years both for promoting Rhones in the area and for developing new farming techniques. The staff is great at explaining all that although sometimes with a bit of attitude. The wines are great all the way around.
