The Reds they make especially the Zinfandel is very very fruit forward , it's my wife favorite wine in the world , and we've tasted wines in all the great wine production... More

Tobin James is a popular destination, not only because it has big bang for your buck (check out their $99 case special on reds), but it has free and generous tastings along with the motto “just have fun”. They do receive coach tours so you might need to pick the right time if visiting on weekends. Whilst my wine-industry husband... More

You won't believe the crowds! But, the outstanding, fruit-forward Paso wines and friendly service explain the experience. Now with three large tasting bars to accommodate the crowds, you won't wait long, if at all, to sample some ripe, local, alcohol-laden wines. Really good, if you're into fruit bombs! And, if you join the club, the discount club prices are outstanding.... More

Tobin James is definitely decent wine, not spectacular but decent. This is more about the ambiance, it's an interesting/quaint kind of old west bar feel, lots of people, tour busses regularly, huge wine list kind of winery. Definitely a party/rowdy/noisy tasting room. It is a fun place to visit but once was enough. There are a multitude of other quality... More

The obvious benefit is the free wine sampling. Once you realize the opportunity to get the high end Zin's for just joining the club its a no brainier. The bold fruit Zinfandels are really incredible and I had no idea I liked them before visiting Tobin's.

Having tried several Tobin James wines from our local wine store, and really enjoying them, we decided to call and join their wine club (The James Gang). We received absolutely wonderful service on the phone and scheduled a stay in one of the three guest rooms available only to club members. I was really looking forward to being able to... More

Thank you for your review Tricia. Happy Birthday by the way! We are so glad you loved your recent guest house stay, and that you enjoy our wines so much. Our Tasting Room is usually very crowded on the weekends, so I sure hope you can return during the quieter week days so that you may have the more intimate... More

This is the party central of Wineries in the Paso Robles area. Always busy, great atmosphere and decent wines. If you're touring the East side of 101 (off 46) start here and work your way back West. If you like Reds, try their 5 blend and the "Liquid Love" Zinfandel with some Chocolate.

Because many wines produced here are very good, readily available and reasonably priced, we've been drinking them for several years--see Cacheflo and Ballistic. Until now we have not visited the winery. The NO tasting fee policy is very liberal and the selection is huge. Wines are served at a beautiful antique bar and servers are very nice. The tasting bar... More
