You won't find a more spectacular view at a winery in this area. I thought the wines were average especially as they appeared at the upper end of the price spectrum. The cost of a tasting at $20 or $30 with a few sips of wine was worth the price for the view

This is probably the most beautiful winery. The grounds are impressive. I would have given them 5 stars but I wasn't that impressed with their wines enough. Don't get me wrong, they were good but not 5 stars good. Loved their Zin and the white Chemin De Fluers but they pride in Cabs and as good as it was...not great,... More

This is not the kind of winery I usually go for. Shuttle bus parking, $20 basic tasting menu, and even a red carpet entrance to the elegant and expansive tasting room. My tastes usually run more to the step-over-the-dog-and-don't-mind-the-boxes-in-the-corner kinds of wineries (at one of my favorites up in Dry Creek they're famous for serving cheeze curls in the tasting... If you have only one opportunity to visit a Paso Robles winery, choose DAOU. Specializing in Bordeaux varieties, DAOU's scenic vineyards are planted to rare clones not found in other Paso Robles vineyards. Their wines combine art and science in a way few other wineries are able to achieve, resulting in definitive wines that are made to express their unique... More

We happened on Daou after missing the turn off to another vineyard, but were very glad we did. It has a stunning setting at the top of a mountain overlooking several area valleys. They could rest on their laurels and not take care with their wines, but that's not the case. The wines are well crafted. The tasting is expensive... More

Had lunch in this fantastic ambiance that smelled of great wines and oaks and flowers with a burrata salad that melted in your mouth and the greens that seemed that had just been picked out for you. It was my favorite winery and we felt there like kings

Really nice tasting venue (especially sitting outside on the patio). Wines were very good with a reasonable variety (not just cab blends). Soul of a Lion was particularly awesome. Great time!

Daou was not on our list to visit, but was recommended mainly because we looking for a vineyard that served food. This is a large vineyard and the tasting building sits at the highest point in the area and commands fabulous views. It definitely has an upscale feel. On the weekends, they use a shuttle to bring people up to... More

Sits on a hilltop with fabulous views. Tastings more expensive that others in Paso, wines not noticeably better: suspect the pricing is to support the fancy building. Staff's knowledge not as extensive as some, but they were pleasant and helpful. Food is served, but is pricey and requires a wine pairing. This means you are looking at $25-30 a head... More

We've been to many California wineries (Napa, Sonoma, Temecula, Santa Barbara, Santa Ynez, Lodi, Paso Robles, you name it) and THIS remains the most incredible winery of all. Atmosphere is incredible: gorgeously appointed, large tasting room, private rooms for members, 360 degree views with patio to match, extremely comfortable chairs, sofas, fireplaces throughout. The outdoor environment is breathtaking and the... More
