This winery produces some of my favorite wines, including the Syrah, and two blends "Lloyd" and "Moose." The tasting room is well-staffed and very bright and open-feeling. Calcareous Winery sits at the top of a hill near Paso Robles and the view is spectacular! This is a place that should not be missed on any Paso wine visit.

We were there at 1030AM ; the first ones. Were welcomed by Karl: so knowledgeable and great accent. (Norway?). We had nice morning wines in a place that was beautiful and peaceful. Bought a Calcareous corkscrew that got thrown away by TSA in LAX. Forgat that it was in my purse....I'm mad at myself.

Our server was fantastic. She knew the wines and was informative, introducing us to their second label. Well worth the trip up the mountain. Expect to see some deer in the neighborhoods on the way up.

After driving to several wineries in the area and having free or $5 tastings, we were a bit surprised to see that this winery was charging $10 for its tastings. We really enjoyed the drive to this winery and the beautiful view, but passed on tasting wine because it would have cost us $20 for the two of us...this seemed... More

I have been a fan of Calcareous wines for years now and have always enjoyed visits to the winery. But this most recent visit assured me that my recommendations to friends and family have been 'right on'. Aside from well priced, beautifully crafted Rhone varietal wines, this destination promises a wonderful wine tasting experience because the staff is knowledgeable and... More

This should be a definite stop on your wine tour while in Paso Robles. A nice tasting room, and they usually have some wine case specials on sale, that you can taste beforehand. The also have a liquor tasting room here also. Just be sure to have a designated driver...!

Calcareous winery is our very favorite place to visit when we are in Paso Robles. The wines are delicious, the tasting room is a fun place to be and the location of the winery if perfect. After winding up Peachy Canyon Rd a couple of miles out of Paso you take a turn to the right up to the top... More

You'll be happily surprised when you make the drive out to Calcareous Winery. Their tasting room is located at the top of a beautiful knoll surrounded by scenic views. I came here with 5 girlfriends while we were in Paso Robles for a girls weekend getaway. Everyone in our group just loved their wines, which apparently derive some of their... More

We really enjoy the wines (Tres Violet, Moose, Lloyd) that Calcareous produces and it is a marvelous setting in which they offer tastings. Today we stopped at Calcareous on our way through Paso and purchased a couple of bottles of Lloyd at $50 per and were a bit surprised that we were charged the $10 tasting fee as well (even... More
