Plan well ahead. We participated in a RoadScholar trip but that's not necessary. I would suggest you book early and try and get grandstand seats nearer to the 'camera' corner (Orange Grove and Pasadena Blvd.) where all the action is still taking place. By the time many groups got to our location, they either had lost some of their participants... More

If you go splurge and get seats in the bandstand. I understand some of the people standing on the sidelines had waited for a couple of days so they could be close - and they still had to stand for the whole parade. The seats are definitely worth it. If you know you are going and will be there ahead... More

What a great experiences this was. We booked a tour through AAA Sojourns, that included hotel, airport transportation, tickets to the Rose Parade, a trip to the Ronald Reagan Museum and a visit to the Endeavor space shuttle. The whole operation was first class. Over 3 1/2 days we were treated to a first-class experience. When we arrived at the... More

The 125th Rose Parade. LOVED IT! Enjoyed everything about it! Best thing was seeing the floats as they were being covered with the flowers. Next best thing was seeing all the dedicated volunteers who work long, hard hours to make the parade great.

Everyone should see this parade at least once. You will need to plan well ahead as many Pasadena streets are closed or changed to one direction. Be patient - the traffic does move. We watched the actual parade from the Melting Pot located on Colorado Blvd. Our party had the luxury of food and beverage to add to the experience.... More

We went as part of an RV group. We stayed in Valencia and were bussed in for pre-parade events. We went to the Equifest, Band Fest, Float decorating, the parade, and post parade float viewing. Well worth it as all tickets were bought in advance by leaders who had been at previous Rose parade events. Many times we had to... More

I planned a last-minute vacation to LA after being able to get Rose Bowl tickets only a week and a half before the game. Watching the Rose Parade had to be a part of our visit, so I purchased tickets through Sharp Seating and took what I could get. Our tickets were in the 1630 grandstands near Pasadena City College.... Grandstand seats on Orange Grove were fantastic. We parked at the Rose Bowl and walked. Very doable.

This review is written from the vantage point of novices who experienced their first Rose Bowl Parade on January 1, 2014. Our experience was fabulous. We knew this was probably the only time we would ever do this and wanted to do it right. We had a rental car and so our advice is for people who have cars since... More
