I saw the Rose Bowl parade in 1980 and loved the floats and always wondered what it took to make them. I loved seeing how they were made when I was in the Pasadena area after Christmas this year (2015). It takes so many volunteers to get the floats ready. The flowers smell good too. I learned some floats don't... More

Absolutely beautiful and amazing floats. A bucket list experience for anyone who has grown up watching this parade on TV! The Downton Abbey float was lovely. I looked at three floats up close and they are incredibly detailed and intricately designed. It was a sunny morning and a wonderful experience in Pasadena on New Years Day 2016! Highly recommend. Be sure to go to all three barns. Two barns you are on the floor close to the floats and workers. One barn you get another view from a catwalk. You can take as much time as you would like to talk to the workers and understand the work being done. Next time we go we will go during the... More

Seeing the Rose Parade in person is a truly memorable experience. I highly suggest sitting at the beginning of the parade route (where the tv cameras are) because lots of the floats do fireworks etc but it only happens once so if you are further down the route you miss it. Due to traffic you cannot arrive too early. You... More

Came from Phoenix, didn't realize they had a post parade float viewing after the first day. What a wonderful way to see the floats for such a reasonable price. Only 10 a person and for a a few more bucks you get a wild and crazy bus ride form three parking locations as parking at the Rose Bowl Float display... More

Let's get the negatives out of the way first - don't bother going to Bandfest unless you plan to get there very early so you can sit on the "home" side of the field. We arrived just a few minutes before start time - the "home" side was already full and we were directed to the "visitors" side of the... More

Seeing the large crowds at the parade, we decided to see the floats at the post parade viewing. We bought tickets )$10 each) beforehand and drove to the shuttle parking lot near the community center around 8:30am.We got on the shuttle )$3 each) no problem, they run every 15 minutes or so. The floats from the parade are displayed in... More

Traveling from the east coast specifically for the Rose Parade 2016 was quite amazing. We bought tickets to see the floats being decorated at all 3 locations, paid for grand stand seats, and entry into the park for the after parade float display. What a wonderful trip! The best decorating site for families was the one by the Rose Bowl.... More

along with thousands of other folks we did it the easy way, for two and sometimes three days after the parade day, they park most of the floats [near where parade ends] and you can get closer to them, photo and study the flowers. We liked it a lot. Parked in a church parking lot that the boy scouts ran... More
