We spent four hours in the museum and could have stayed longer. My cousin really enjoyed the Rodin sculpture galleries with very thorough and information explanations about the artist and his work. The special exhibit "Inside Rodin’s Hands: Art, Technology, and Surgery" was extremely interesting from a biological and artistic perspective. The museum has some very interesting galleries on Africa,... More

The Stanford Museum has a world class exhibit of Rodin'a sculptures that is displayed both inside and outside the museum. There are also interesting exhibits of art and other types constantly available at this spot. A great place of lunch and snacks is also available there. I think it is one of the high points of your tour of Silicon... More

I last saw the Museum in the mid '70s when it was a repository for Leland Jr. memorabilia. What a difference - a significant and well curated collection set in restored and new buildings.

A cousin suggested we stop here and we are so glad we did. It is a free museum on the Stanford University campus, right off of Avenue of the Palms. The museum is free and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The building is gorgeous and the collection extensive. The signage is really, really good. Not the usual art history... More

The museum is host for one of the best Rodin exhibits outside Paris. The bronze doors in the garden are amazing. The inside of the museum hosts several private collection. Not just the artwork, but well designed. Nice use of natural lighting in the center. Rooms effectively use different themes. If you do art museums a must if you are in the area.

You are on the huge Stanford Campus and this gem of a museum holds wonderful treasures....the Serra outdoor sculpture is a must and a great counter point to their incredible Rodin collection...the American Indian collection is phenomenal as is the Asian art galleries....where you could easily spend a whole day...But the most fun is the 2nd floor with contemporary art...easy... GO! It's a small place but a great little detour while visiting the Stanford Campus or Palo Alto for business. Take an hour and walk the museum and have lunch at the cafe (which is excellent).
