For being one of the top 10 universities in the world, Stanford is rather modern. Only a little over 100 years old, its stunning architecture is not classic, but Californian with sandstone walls and red tile roofs. This is a pretty and cool campus... Wander around in between the sculptures close to the main Quad... Go into the chapel for a quiet moment and admire the frescoes... This is a really nice well-organized and well laid-out campus. Really nice campus to walk around. I really enjoyed it. There's an area dedicated to Herbert Hoover (as a Federal Landmark) that's interesting.
