Stanford University, located just south of San Francisco is one of the most prestigious Universities in the world. For a walking tour, try starting out at the Cantor Arts Center and walking towards the center of campus. The Memorial Church and neighboring buildings provide a beautiful location for evening photos. A stop at Coupa Cafe near the Green Library, a... More

You can go up the Hoover tower and see the entire campus from above for 3$ per person. The campus itself is very nice and makes for a nice walk. Luckily we had a friend who did his Phd in Stanford to walk us around, otherwise it would have been a duller experience.

If you are in the area, dont miss the Rodin sculptures in the cantor arts center. Collection includes the thinker and the gates of hell.

When visiting Stanford, I recommend taking in one of the tours they offer. We did the walking tour and the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They are all students so they share the extra information from their perspective and are very open to questions and encourage you to ask anything you are curious about. Hoover Tower is outstanding with... More

It was Very organized for camps. The only problem was finding parking. Loved that they have scheduled tours everyday.

Scattered with random seeming Rodin sculptures. Stunning buildings. Don't miss the Memorial "Chapel" and Cantor Art Museum (eat there, too). Behold the power of vast quantities of money.

The architecture of this California University reflects the rolling nature of the local hills and west coast sunshine. Students ride bikes around the sprawling campus but there is a free shuttle service that will take you anywhere you want to go and the university offers walking tours on the hour. Lots of places to grab a bite to eat and... More

Stanford is not only a great university it has a wonderful campus. There is great architecture and although the campus is large it is walkable. Hoover tower and the chapel are both worth visiting. If you are there during the warmer months you may want to visit in the morning or late afternoon and definitely bring water.
