Creamy, delicious, really sweet! The date shakes live up to their hype. My sandwich was super fresh and tasty. The rye bread had massive amounts of seeds and was chewy and flavorful. It was fun to shop for snacks in the store, too. EZ on and off the freeway. We'll be back!

A bit out of the way but great to bring home gifts for friends and co-workers. A great selection of fruits, nuts, breads and other gift items.

they definitely have a great selection of dried fruits, nuts, and other such items. I found the prices quite a bit higher than I am used to for most of the items. the date shake wasn't terrible but we didn't like it enough to actually drink it. the hot dog was good... so, all in all not a bad stop... Whenever passing through or near, we try to make a stop here. First, we got 3 date shakes and 1 banana date shake and some sandwiches. Then we sampled a couple of types of dates, nuts, dried fruit, wasabi peas. We took home some of the above along with date paste (it includes a recipe for home date shakes). Highly... More

Hadley's is a de rigueur stop on your way to/from the desert. It's basically a big store, filled with all kinds of dried fruit and nuts. They specialize in dates, which they grow. You can taste them and learn the difference between a deglet and a medjool (my favorite). They have their own special mixes of fruit and nuts, drinks... More

Saw that this Jane & Michael Stern pick was enroute to the Cabazon Dinosaurs and decided to stop. My friend and I were able to pick up a bunch of good snacks for the road, and some gifts (my husband loves dates), to take back home to Michigan. We both ordered banana date shakes, and they were delicious. Pretty cool... More

We stopped for lunch as we were heading to LA after being out on the high desert. Nothing on the front of the large store says anything about a place to eat, but one of our party was in the know. The BLTs were great as was the chicken salad sandwitch. A very unique drink, is the date shake. A... More

I've been going to Hadley's since I was a little girl in southern California, and now my family and I often stop there on trips between Phoenix and L.A. You won't find a better selection of dried fruits and nuts anywhere! Be sure to try the different types of trail mix (they invented trail mix many years ago!) and the... More

The immediate area has expanded in recent years, so it's a good place to get gas and food nearby. But this shop is great. They sell wonderful fruit candy (Aplets, cotlets and related), dried fruit, and have delicious date shakes. The bathrooms are clean and you have a great view. It's a terrific stop on the long road in. Just... More

Established in 1931, this roadside stop was a welcome place to pull in for snacks in the days before Interstate 10, when the main road between LA and Phoenix was only a two lane affair. It still is a great pull-in place. We stop here for snacks such as their several varieties of trail mix made fresh (these folks invented... More
