We enjoyed a lovely walk on the northern end of Palm Canyon Drive, also known as the Uptown Design District. The southern end of Palm Canyon Drive is more touristy in nature with t-shirt shops and the like, while the northern end of Palm Canyon Drive offers many home furnishing stores, some with designer relics from Eames and Milo Baughman.... Beautiful palms line this main drag of Palm Springs. Modernist and Spanish-style architecture featured on most of the buildings. Many good restaurants along its lengrh. Unfortunately the downtown stretch is marred by cheesy stores unworthy of the setting.

Starting at roughly Via Lola and running all the way down to the intersection of Palm Canyon and Indian Canyon Drives, this stretch of road covers a good amount of territory (enough for a very vigorous walk). At the Via Lola end, more art galleries and furniture stores are located while, in the center, more restaurants, quaint shops and souvenir... More

Lots of the same stuff in many of the stores but Ben & Jerry's ice cream shop was fun. And everyone was super friendly.

Every Thursday from 4pm-10pm East Palm Canyon Drive from Baristo to Tahquitz Canyon is closed down for a Street Fair with numerous food and unique gift vendors a plenty. Everything from homemade candles, clothing, kettle corn and even competitive priced clothing for your pets. My little ones love the atmosphere, almost carnival, pointing at this and that and marveling at... More

Very pretty. Dark at night as there are few or no street lights when outside the downtown area. The downtown is very pretty and active at all hours. Great for people and dog watching. Lots to see...the Walk of the Stars, etc.

If you're in town over a Thursday night, don't miss the street festival on Palm Canyon Drive. Great food vendors, local artists, and lots of street performers. Good crowd, even on a very, very cold New Year's night! Very fun time.
