Our family loved the ride up and down - despite the people who didn't seem to understand that as the floor rotates, your grip on the handles need to move often too. Otherwise, you club the woman to your left (me) many times, in the neck. How many times does one need to club their neighbor before they think to... More

Took the tram this afternoon for a respite from the unseasonably warm temps. It's always fun to go up the tram, hear the narrative and see the views. Today we even watched the movie on the making of the tramway. We even met some people up there staying at the same timeshare! Enjoy, take a hike, look around and be... More

Get ready for the ride of your life! Climbs about 6000 feet from the parking lot to a plateau at about 8500 feet with trails, restaurants and gift shops. The views of the valley and surrounding forest and peaks are breathtaking. There are easy to difficult trails with the most being 5 miles to San Jacinto peak at over 10,000... More

Friends and I went touring around Palm Springs, CA. We went up, up, and away on the tram, the scenery was breath taking, we even spotted an eagle and oodles of squirrels, saw the flick on the building of the tram, boy! what an engineering wonder. Personally I liked it better than the one in Switzerland, even though it was... More

our first visit in 15 years and how it's changed! Not the scenery, but the cars. They now rotate as you ascend/descend with a commentary of useful facts. The temperate at the top was about 30f cooler than in Palm Springs but when the temperature there was over 100f that wasn't an issue! Disappointed with the choice of food and... More

A really fabulous experience 10,000 ft above, On a visit to Palm Springs this should not be missed. My only grouse was that I think there should be some sort of warning that going up that high in just 10 mins has an effect on breathing & heart, as an older person I felt very short of breath & chest... In just a few minutes you are transported from a hot dessert to what looks more like Yosemite. The trees, the cool air, the large granite rock formations are all beautiful. If you are with kids, the Dessert View Loop hike is very manageable but I recommend you go to the left, from view 1-5, instead of right views 5-1.... More

Wonderful experience with rather cheesy commentary on the way up and down. The floor of the cabin rotates 360 degrees twice so you get great views during the trip.

We drove from San Diego to Palm Springs especially to go on the tramway and we were not disappointed. The views going up were spectacular and because the tram rotated you had such a good view wherever you stood. Once up the mountain the views were amazing too. Lots of walking and some really good photo opportunities. Well worth the... More
