You have to see it to appreciate the beauty and cleanliness of the outdoors up on the mountain. The tram ride itself was worth the trip yet we were overwhelmed by the beauty of the outdoors. Bring a jacket as it is 30 degrees cooler.

The tram ride is worth it. It is an extremely beautiful view and a relief from the heat. Very nice for couples or families.

The tram ride itself is spectacular, the rise in elevation is amazing. You will need to pop your ears in both directions. When you hit the towers on the way up the tram car swings which gives you a thrill. On the way down you get sort of a drop down/stomach up sensation. The car rotates so you aren't stuck... More

This ten minute journey up the San Jacinto mountain is well worth the trip. Just a few minutes' drive from Palm Springs, it's definitely worth a morning or afternoon taking the tramway and exploring the mountaintop. Just don't go when there are thunderstorms forecast!

A must do when in Palm Springs. The ride up to the top of the mountain offers fantastic views across the desert plain.

It was 114 when we visited Palm Springs and need to cool down. We decided to take the tramway up and boy was it worth it. The views on the way up and on top of the n mountain 8,500 above where you started was just awesome. It was a cool 69• at the top. They have a bar and... More

Don't know why it's called a tramway when it's a cable car. Very good, got to travel up to the top in 15 minutes and had fantastic sights over Palm Springs, well worth a visit

We went up the tramway during our trip to Palm Springs. There's a fairly lengthy, very steep (very, very steep!) drive from the main road to the lower station, so don't try to walk it! The cable car rotates (slowly) as you go to allow a full 360 view; it's a large car so if you don't like heights it's... More

As I was a bit of a thrill-seeker, in the latter stages of my two-week stay in California, my friend took me up on the aerial tramway. The journey or "flight" up there to the top of Mount San Jacinto State Park was truly a thrilling ride. Not for the those who have a fear of heights, mind you!

This isn't a particularly amazing attraction, but it might be the most amazing attraction in Palm Springs. So, it's definitely worth doing. Line up early before your time slot so you get a good window spot on the tram. There's no harm in lining up too early. Line up with the people who are waiting for the time slot ahead... More
