Most of the collections here were not my taste. It was quiet and not many people were there, so it was a good place to avoid heat. The building was well designed and quite nice.

Thursday night is the day to go, free, music being played, docents talking about pieces of art, very helpful and kind staff. Well designed, open inside and easy to get around. Some masters on view, on loan, like Picasso, Monet, Van Gogh, Manet, and some abstract, and some local. Very nice store. Has a cafe and outdoor gardens with Chihuli... More

I love this museum/gallery. The exhibitions are always challenging to the imagination. This is a favorite spot to take our out-of-town visitors. Palm Springs is so fortunate to have such wonderful art available to visit at any time.

We just visited the museum during their modern art exhibit. There was some interesting and some confusing art. The building is beautiful. It is a nice way to get out of the heat for a couple of hours too.

Every time we come to the Palm Springs area, we make it a point to visit this art museum. It is definitely a class-act. Excellent permanent exhibits, along with rotating and special exhibits, are of a quality to what you would expect to find in major metropolitan institutions. What I especially like about this museum is that it is very... More

I was unprepared for the joy and depth that is Palm Springs Art Museum. I am an artist and art lover who found much to absorb in this museum that is a work of architectural art in itself. One sculpture garden was closed for an event, but the other was large and filled with jewels by the likes of Jim... More

Not what was expected. Visited on a Sunday afternoon. Most of the artwork is very boring and not very exciting. Expected more from this museum. Not really worth the $12 to get in. A lot of areas under construction or were closed off completely. A little disappointing.

We don't usually spend much time going to museums, so we were thrilled that you can visit this museum for FREE on Thursday evening. We went several times, just before going to the street fair. A tour guide is available , I think at 5 pm, who will lead you through, discussing paintings from a particular aspect. Each time was... More
