So many different places to go: restaurants, spas, sports, beautiful mountains. Just being there is so relaxing and refreshing. The streets are wide and driving is so peaceful. Swimming pools abound and there is such a sense of cleanliness and gentleness there.

There are very helpful staff and information at this centrally located office. They also have a good selection of souvenir items for sale.

We always make a point of visiting this visitor center. They almost always have great sales on souvenirs and they are a wealth of information about the Coachella Valley. However, we miss their former location and this new center feels somehow less than the previous location. Still a good place to learn about the area...but wow, the last location was... More

Thank you for the great review! I'm glad to know that you're still happy with our services and our "wealth of information," and that the only thing you're missing is out old location. (And yes, we miss it too sometimes, but we can all visit it now as the Palm Springs Art Museum in Palm Desert.) I hope you continue... More

They have a variety of great books and pamphlets, but we had to ask about events in other desert cities. The staff was very helpful after that.

Thanks for your review! Visitors and locals alike come by for our event information, so I'm glad we were able to help you find what you were after. While we may be the "Palm Desert" Visitor Center, we display brochures on attractions and events throughout the valley because we realize that most folks' vacations won't be limited to just our... Good info provided and some suggestions we may have missed if we hadn't dropped by. Local maps helpful and advice on where to ride our bikes in the area was good. Saw some nice Palm Springs modernism homes on our self guided tour.

Awesome review! Thank you so much! We are indeed the "map" people, and we're happy to provide our many resources--bike map, hike map, you name it--to our many visitors. Thanks for stopping to see us at the Palm Desert Visitor Center, and thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. More

We stopped in this Visitor's Center to get some information on the area as it was our first trip out to Palm Desert. We were very pleased with how knowledgeable the staff was and how friendly they were. The woman we spoke with went to great lengths to tell us all about the area, mark lots of sites on our... More

What a lovely Five-Star review! Thank you so much! We do indeed have a friendly and knowledgeable staff, and we do our best to give all our visitors our undivided attention when you stop in to see us. While this may have been your first trip to Palm Desert, I do hope it won't be your last. Thanks again! More

I believe the internet is killing their business! They still have a traditional(or we may call it old fashion) business model needs to be changed.

Thank you for taking the time to review the Palm Desert Visitor Center. Are visitor centers outdated? Perhaps. In today’s Internet age, no one can deny that there are certainly lots of information sources out there, which is why the City of Palm Desert also invests in a tourism website, a monthly email newsletter, and four different social media networks.... The Palm Desert Visitor Center is located in the heart of the El Paseo shopping district in the rear parking lot behind some stores, but don't let that put you off. There is ample parking available and a friendly, helpful staff to help you get all the literature you need for hikes, tours, attractions, hotels, events, etc. They also have... More

Thanks for your very kind 5 Star review! We're glad we were able to set you up with everything you needed for your trip. You're right, Joshua Tree National Park is a very popular destination with our visitors and we're happy to carry the Park Service brochure and map to get people started the right direction. Thanks again! More

The staff really knows the area and are very informative. They know the area and make great suggestions. Stop here first before exploring the desert.

Thanks for the Five Star review! I'm glad we were able to offer up suggestions to make the most of your trip to Palm Desert. Great advice, too, for suggesting that folks stop by early in their trip. You'd be surprised at how many people come by the Visitor Center with just a few days left, and they leave us... More

With all the buildings pretty much looking the same in Palm Desert and surrounds, we stopped to get a map so we could get our bearings. (Sometimes electronic google maps or tom toms are just not enough!) It is easy to find the place as there are lots of signs (which it true in Palm Desert but I can't say... More

Thank you for you review! You're not the only one out there that likes to have a traditional paper map--it is, by far, our #1 request. I'm glad too that we were able to help with tips for your Joshua Tree National Park trip. It's such vast park, it can be a little daunting--but we've all been there to hike... More
