We took our young Grandchildren here, they loved it, were able to see all the animals, they rode a camel, loved the carousel, even found the hospital interesting. Our Grandson was fascinated by the train sets, this covered a lot of ground and so much to see. Not a lot of shade so if you go on a really hot... More

You can get lost in the various sections for the zoo, from nature trails to feeding the giraffes. It is also a fully fledged participant in conservation and preservation of species, so there are lots of rare animals and very good interpretive information. We spent about three hours, but could have spent twice as much.

Went here with my 4 year old, 2 year old and my parents. The kids were immediately attracted to the massive model train display. Giraffes were fed, warthogs were seen and goats were pet. It was a wonderful time for the whole family.

It has been 15 years since we last visited the Living Desert Zoo & Gardens. It really has grown over the years. The variety of birds and animals is impressive. I'm not a "zoo" person and yet I found myself enjoying the afternoon. It was a pleasant and temperant day. I would caution to avoid a warm/hot day. The facilities... More

Although it was cool for this time of year, we enjoyed spending the day here seeing the animals, hiking the desert and following the great map of the park. We did a lot of walking but there was so much to see. Did not get to see the gardens in bloom but still enjoyed walking through them.

Nice activity for half the day. We regular bring our visitors to the valley to the Living Desert. Lots of educational displays, easy level walking paths with labeled plants, African and local animals. For the fit there are two hiking paths - one is about 5 hours, the other is about 1 hour. And there is a shop were you... More

A unique and amazing botanical and zoological desert garden. Beautiful, fascinating, educational. And the model trains are the best!

As a zoo it's very engaging. A nice variety of animals, reptiles, birds and a very pleasant place to view them leisurely. But there's more. The botanical gardens are beautiful, and there are at least a few to visit. The model railroad display is amazing - elaborate, detailed ad authentic. Plan to spend some time there too. I recommend getting... More

We really enjoyed this zoo. They even offer for $5 a camel ride, in a circle but great picture, same with feeding the giraffe. They offer, for $12 (I think) use of the tram that circles the zoo, so if you have a walking problem, you can see everything. It is an on off every 15 minutes at different locations.
