One of the most beautiful displays of natural vegetation and animals in their natural habitat. When I saw that groups of children were able to sleep in tents under the stars and listen to the animals I wanted to do it, too! :)

This zoo contains many animals whose habitat is not unlike the surrounding area. Most of the animals are in large fenced in areas and are free to romp around. There is a trolly that can take you all around the zoo and nthen you can choose to walk to the exhiibits you are most interested in seeing up close.

We took our granddaughter who is 4 years old and spent the little extra to take tram around--it was well worth it. You can get off and on to see the animals in their natural habitat and move on to the next when you get tired and it is also fun just to drive around on the tram. There is... More

This is a wonderful place even in the heat. What I found the best were the young animals born this year. It is also neat to feed the giraffes. I can see returning when it cools down and desert plants can be added to my yard. They have a great nursery with knowledgible staff to help you.

This is a very special zoo and carefully laid out. Children love the interactive portions of the displays. There are scheduled talks by staff as well as a fun time when staff introduce various zoo animals. Very worthwhile attending. It has to have one of the biggest electric train sets I have ever seen.

Having a "zoo" in the Desert, that is a very unique setting, and the TRAIN set up they have is unbelievable. The first time I saw that, I was so awed by it, I had to come back the second day with my camera to take pictures of it. I try to get to the "Night Light" Display they create... More

I have lived near the Living Desert and have been a member for years. It is actually a sanctuary for endangered species and has done great work in that area. It is open to the public and derives some of its income from tickets and memberships and and such has evolved into a zoo of sorts. Partially because of the... More

An interesting zoo in the desert. Lots of wildlife exhibits and the staff were very knowledgable and friendly. Our favorite exhibit was the meerkats and we learned so many interesting facts about these amazing creatures. If you go in the summer, go early in the morning. Look in the free Desert Guide magazines for coupons.

If you like seeing animals in cages or trapped or owned and controlled by humans then go to a zoo. If you are vegan which means you really LOVE animals, would not eat them or see them in an enclosure for human entertainment and for the greed of people making money off of them, then a zoo is not for...
