As a resident grandmother, this is a place I visit often with my granddaughters, they love the new Australian birds with a terriffic interactive feature! They just had their first sighting of the baby giraffe, so tall at two weeks old. Drink lots of water while visiting, The show is an ever changing up close view of animals, and the... More

It has been a couple of years since our visit. When we did go, we had a very enjoyable time. I would agree with "whiskmagic" and Sandra P: it is a bit pricy but it is a great place for adults as well as families.

Viewing the animals in the early morning is great. You can feed the giraffes, ride the camel and watch the many animals in their habitat. I am a senior and enjoy early morning hikes on their trails. I think a visit to the Living Desert is enjoyable for all ages.

It's a zoo... it's a botannical garden... it's a unique attraction. The Living Desert is all of these. Imagine a large tract of land dedicated to representing the deserts of the world accurately... their animals, plants, unique sights and sounds. Add research facilities and a hospital where surgery is performed to bring special animals back to health. You can even... More

We decided on a staycation this year and added the Living Desert to our list of places to see. The drive wasn't too bad and we got there a little later than I had originally planned. I wanted to make sure to get there for the giraffe feeding, but we missed it by 30 minutes. We purchased 2 adult tickets... More

I have been to the Living Desert throughout the years and it just keeps getting better. Feeding the giraffes is a Must especially because there is a new baby just born. The musical events are fabulous entertainment for the adults. Check out their web site for a complete list of activities.I also like the Jeep tours & of course the... More

Miniature train display alone worth the visit. Other favorites are the Giraffes, Big Horn Sheep, the Presentation at the outside theatre, and at Christmas time the lights at night.

Enjoyable 1/2 day or more for most people. Nice gardens and animals all look well cared for and healthy. The enclosures for the most part are very well done with a nice variety of animals for a desert environment. The down side is the fees for entry and refreshments compared to other zoos and gardens seemed some what on the... More
