Clean and animals appear to be well cared for. We took our time walking around and spent about 31/2 hours here. Cost was $17.25. All main paths are nice wide concrete sidewalks and flat. We didn't get here until about noon so it was hot out. There are many benches and covered resting areas and water bubblers all around the... More

It's a garden and a zoo. A fun, leisurely stroll with something to see around every corner. We didn't go to any of the feelings but there are eat times you can feed giraffes for a fee. Staff also brought out a tiny owl which was cool to see up clos. There is an animal hospital with many animals to... More

This is a 4 star for kids. Adults might be a little unimpressed. There is a lot of walking for not so many animals. Don't get me wrong this is a great spot to go with the family, it's just not the SD Zoo.

Beautiful grounds and well kept gardens. The animals all seemed happy and healthy. Some of the animals were sleeping due to being nocturnal but still seeing sleeping jaguars was pretty cool. Zebras and babies were out and about as well as the hyenas and wart hogs. But all 3 cheetahs were out sunning themselves for everyone to see. That was... More

The staff is very friendly and if the animals are out you can get fairly close. Tips 1.Save some money and ask for the AAA discount because it is not advertised. 2. Get there as early as possible and view all areas with outdoor animals first. They tend to hide as the day heats up. 3. Go to the discovery... More

The zoo was good, I was expecting more natural inhabitants of the area versus that of other countries. It was hot and in the middle of the day so a lot of animals were hiding and we did not get to see many of them. Good entertainment but not great.

We have a zoo membership where we live, so we were able to get a discount here with our membership card - a nice bonus! This zoo is not huge, and it's a nice contrast to the zoo we have at home. In addition to all the wonderful habitats and gardens, we enjoyed visiting the hospital and we incredibly impressed... More

We love coming during the holidays. It's so festive with beautiful lights, decorations, caroling and special shows. Everyone is in a great mood. Evenings at the Living Desert is cool and crisp. So easy to get in the holiday spirit when you visit in December. And I don't like zoos, but this place is different and special!!

Who knew such a wonderful facility with all these wild animals existed in Palm Springs. this was such an amazing family day. the most exciting for all of us was to feed giraffes and stand three feet away from a purring cheetah. this made the trip to Palm Springs spectacular. I highly recommend families with teenagers and children to visit... More

We found the zoo hospital very interesting. The docent was knowledgeable and had a passion for the area.
