13 fine art galleries; at least as many fine eateries; Apple, Starbucks, Saks, Eileen Fisher, nearly endless shopping opportunities. If you have an entire day, begin at Monterey drive, walk one side of the (very) long street to highway 111, cross to the other side, and walk back along the opposite side. Snack and dine along the way, and bring... More

When I visit the desert, my local friend and I always head to El Paseo for lunch and a little shopping. There really is something for everyone. There are many reasonably priced stores among the absurdly priced ones so we just giggle when we accidentally pop into a store and see a $500 T shirt. Who does buy those things?

El Paseo should be a model for downtown redevelopments. the street is clean, well lit but not too bright at night, wide sidewalks, public art that changes frequently, a wide street with a centre median lined with palm trees the variety and quality of shops is excellent, there is not too much of any one category, and a good balance... Great shops and restaurants. Even of you don't want to spend money it's great just to window shop. Best part of all, parking is free and you don't usually have to look hard for one.

Nice variety of shops here, many very high end with some average mixed in. A couple good coffee shops for a quick break also.

From jewelry to jeans, fine arts to swim suits, El Paseo has it all. Golf cart courtesy rides and shady seating in courtyards help with the heat, and several nice restaurants and coffee shops have outdoor seats as well. The first Friday art walk and open house event was worth it - free champagne and hors d'oeuvres while viewing fine... More

Better shopping than Palm Springs. Many well known designer shops plus great little boutiques. No parking meters in the city of Palm Desert. Free shuttle up and down El Paseo and many excellent restaurants when you have shopped till you drop.

I send any new visiting people here. It has everything; dining, drinking, shopping, live music and events. It's definitely on the higher end. It was described to me if Beverly Hills was dropped off in Palm Desert.

This is a company that I would never consider doing business with in the future. We had a gift certificate for $100 that they would not honor. We probably would have spent double this, so they don't even appear to be very bright along with not being fully honest.

My cousin and I were treated so disdainfully in two of the shops that we took our business to another town. My cousin was told "That will never fit you" when she asked if a blouse came in another size. Snooty sales people. Never again
