For what you get and what you pay, certainly a bargin. 45 to walk on a weekday. Staff was helpful and there was a marshal on the course the day we played. Pace of play was quick and we played in under 4 hours. It was not really busy and the locals playing in front of us flew around. I... More

This course is short, however tight fairways on the front side and dramatic views on the back make up for it. The course is a great value for the money. My suggestion is to walk and soak in the views.

Read the other reviews ... no need to repeat facts ... front side, back side ... conditions due to CA water issues, etc. The real point of it is U GET TO GOLF ON THE MONTEREY COAST - and you do not have to break the bank, spend the grand babies college book fund, nor hock the wife's anniversary diamond... To be clear: Pebble Beach this is not. But for under $50 (we paid $44 midweek) you can play PG 12 times for the rate for one round at Pebble. This is really 2 golf courses. From the clubhouse, the front nine goes out away from the water with houses on both sides. While interesting, if this were all there... More

This is a fun 18 hole public golf course with beautiful views of the ocean. It's low keyed and the price is exceptional, and for a public course it is well maintained. We were visiting Monterey from Reno,NV. When we were getting ready to play someone told us this golf course is known as the poor man's Pebble Beach. Nevertheless,... More

On my girlfriend and I's third trip back to the peninsula, we finally tried PG Golf links! We were in town for 2 weeks (from Canada) and started with this course as a warmup, and then also decided to do one more lap the day before we left. We've played all the big courses...Pebble, Spyglass, Bayonet, etc. and PG golf... More

PG used to have a beautiful little golf course, but water problems on the Monterey Peninsula have caused some fairways to deteriorate to a frightening degree. Back nine along the ocean is still a great experience-- front nine not so much.

The front nine goes away from the ocean and is better protected from the wind and the back is along the coast. It is a municipal course so nearly anyone can afford to play yet it has these wonderful greens along the ocean.

This is a nice enough course that more than makes up for it's very average course layout and conditions with beautiful views and wildlife. I have never seen more than one or two deer on any course and I saw 20 deer on a single hole at PG Links. The coastline of Pacific Grove rivals those of any in the... More

We were looking forward to playing "the poor man's Pebble Beach." The front side is amongst the trees. The back niine has great ocean views. Deer roam the course. It had great potential but it was ruined by too many people on the course, slow play and no marshals to keep the slow players moving. Apparently they usually do have... More
