This is a place of great natural beauty. Best is to start from New Monterey and make your way to the Asilomar state beach. The scenery is amazing and the waterfront houses are very pretty. Some very nice inns as well along the way. Definitely worth exploring. If you are not by car, you can rent a bicycle at the... More

Beautiful oceans views and beautiful homes!!! Great walk paths to walk. Pacific Grove planning department has done a great job. I love Pacific Grove better than Carmel. The shops and restaurants are wonderful.

the drive along the Pacific Grove waterfront is definitely worth it. It is a great place to stop and picnic or take a walk. It is stunningly beautiful and all public land, so there are not houses and fences obscuring the great view out to see and across Monterey Bay.

What to expect in April: harbor seals giving birth, lots of pups, crashing waves, a few trees to frame your view, yellow and pink large ice plants, tiny purple ones to the north/west.

On a warm, sunny morning, there is nothing in the world that compares to this walk. People are surfing, walking their dogs, and taking in the beauty of the Pacific Ocean. The homes in this "high-rent" area are eye candy. Each custom home appears to be designed by a different builder. One can only wonder what these homeowners do for... More

I have spent so much time meandering along the coast, just being; in December, it's quiet, peaceful, air crisp and cool; coming from Los Angeles,i get to dress winterly and pretend that i'm cold...fun...when i'm up there, i spend hours making my way down to the Aquarium/Monterey...but bring binoculars or zoom camera to really see the otters!

I just completed a one week trip to the Monterey area and spent a lot of time walking all along the ocean coastal trails in Pacific Grove (along Sunset Dr.). It seemed the best maintained trails were the ones on the western side of this peninsula, in the general area of Asilomar Conference Center. Some parts of this coastal trail... More

Perfect location for a sunset walk. The Monterey Peninsula is magical. My fave is Pacific Grove~~more quiet and less expensive. It shows us visiting in April. We visited 4 years ago.
