Very good information about the Pacific Grove area. There is a Monarch migration exhibit opening on March 31st that I would have loved to see, but unfortunately we missed it by a week. Go to the museum to gain a better appreciation of this gorgeous area. More

This is a well-designed museum of modest proportions. The whale sculpture in front has been crawled on by one child after another for many, many years. The exhibits are well arranged and instructive. It's a great place to take children, and admission is free (donations, of course, are gratefully accepted). The volunteer staff are always amiable and helpful. More

I took my grandson who is 16 months to this museum for a treat. He loved the birds! He kept going from case to case in excitement. They also have a kids area where they can color or do other art work but he is a bit too young for that yet. For some reason he also enjoyed the garden... More

A great little museum of the local flora and fauna. There is a replica of a grey whale in the front that the kids will enjoy climbing on. Nice for a free museum in a quaint town. The outdoor native plants area in the back is great--there's a nice large egg papasan type enclosure made of wood that makes a cute photo opportunity. The museum's particularly useful for kids, as it's a bit elementary for adults, but it was still a neat place to see fossils and specimens... More

We stopped here in the am to investigate it. Admission is free. Lots of stuffed animals that you'd never get to see that close up otherwise. Small gift shop, local historical culture photos and items. Back yard is undergoing major renovation. Pacific Grove Visitor center is conveniently located adjacent to museum. Shopping is a block away on the main street. More
