I went to attend the wild flower show at the museum, which was great. I took the time to see the whole museum and found it very well presented. It has outdoor labelled garden and a life size gray whale out front.

This turned out to be a great place to visit. The natural history of the area (Monterey Bay) was extensive, with an interesting display devoted to the butterflies that pass through and inhabit the area. There's even an exhibit with 600+ vials of colorful beach sand from all over the world. The local natural history is well covered and interesting,... More

Great exhibits especially the bird exhibit and the Chinese Village exhibit. Good place to take kids to painlessly learn about the local natural history and culture.

We walked from Cannery Row to this museum. A beautiful hike! The museum is small but packed with lots of info. Prepare to read a lot!!!! It was a decent amount of stuffed animals and then plenty of info on each of them. I rated this place "average" because I recently visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which also has the... More

The restoration of this lighthouse is incredible. The volunteers are very passionate and knowledgeable. They made our visit very educational and ENTERTAINING. A do not miss site and definitely worth a donation to help with maintenance and restoration of this piece of maritime history.

Starting with the kid friendly giant whale statue out front this small museum has a lot to interest families. The displays add a dimension to your observations from life along the coast and there is a charming native plant garden that features a human sized "nest" the you won't be able to resist climbing into.

We stumbled on this on a mother-daughter weekend away. First, no admission fee which is impressive these days. Second, the docents are very helpful and knowledgable. We loved the exhibits, especially the bird exhibit which was perfect for us to help identify birds we have seen on hikes around this area and beyond. The open area behind the museum is... More

To really see the exhibits, give yourself 2 hours. If you don't, you won't get much out of it. There is a lot to read. It's interesting seeing and learning about local wildlife, etc.

We always enjoy visiting our local museum and it's a great place to take friends that are visiting. Of course, we need our daily Sandy fix. The changing exhibits are always great, we loved the Monarch exhibits and of course, we love the gift store and garden.

We always stop here when we vacation in Pacific Grove. They have wonderful stuffed birds, animals, and marine life, that are easy to access and to look at. We even went to a free evening reception for the current exhibit of local paintings. Check it out.
