Nice area to walk or ride a bike. Used to have Segway's you could rent. You can rent electric boats , paddle boats or kayaks to cruise around the harbor. More adventurous, rent a jet ski and go out into the ocean.

Great area. Lots to see and do. Harbor is almost always clean thanks to the Edison plant pull water through the channels. Good place to visit, fish, whatever you want to do from both sides of the channels.

Quiet, beautiful harbor. For once, there are not alot of bars and eateries on the water to spoil the peace and quiet.

We stopped by the Channel Islands Harbor area for some sightseeing and lunch at the Fisherman's House. We were disappointed to find that the Fisherman's House is located in a small food court and not really what one would expect as a restaurant. You order your food at the counter and pick it up when they call your number. Our... More

This harbor used to be a much nicer attraction, but has fallen on hard times. The Lobster Trap restaurant and the Casa Sirina used to be the center pieces of an active harbor that drew visitors from far and wide. But now, both have been closed and shuttered for almost 10 years. The Port Royal and Buon Appetito restaurants are... More

Recently went to Channel Islands Harbor on a geocaching trip. There are lots of great geocaches here. I think the area was effected by the recent recession. Lots of the little shops are closed. Parking is easy and there are several nice beaches near by. There are still enough restaurants, but the tourist shops are gone.

Comapared to Ventura Harbor this one is smaller. It has the same activities to choose from and closer if you are coming from the south. These is more like a residentail area for people who owns their own boats. Personally I prefer the Ventura Harbor which has a more festive air.

This is the most sought after and affordable harbor on the West Coast!! Located betweend Santa Barbara and Los Angeles, the weather is always sunny and the homes in the Channel Islands Harbor are gorgeous boat dock homes and condos with amazing water views. Call Arlene Beckwith (my boss) for showings or more information on the homes. Pamela!

Several nice restaurants operate in the pier. You can easily have a nice meal for a reasonable price, but it can get expensive if you do not pay attention to what you order. The restaurants try to compete with one another, which leadds to loud music all-around. Lunch can be more affordable and less crazy, if you are not busy... More
