Capt. Dan is a Coast Guard licensed master and American Sailing Association instrutor. Sail with him for a few hours or up to several days, exploring the Channel Islands ... or take private lessons. We have two yachts, one economy and one luxury boat built in France and we are the only company offering sailing eco-tours of California's Channel Islands. Our islands are often described as the Galapagos of North American and abound in sea life from whales, to dolphins to fish that ride here on either a southern current or the northern one. Ashore, you will find a landscape mostly clear of humans and protected by the National Park Service and the Nature Conservancy. Human civilization dates back some 10,000 years here, but only a handful of caretakers live here now. Come with us and step back in history 200 years, step away from civilization.

Was it the perfect weather? Yes! Was it the great wind for filling the sails? Yes! Was it also the friendly and accommodating Capt. Dan? Yes! Yes! Yes! My husband and I just completed our 3 hour trip on the Wiley and had a great time. Capt. Dan will let you be involved in the operation of sailing as much... More

We spent the day out with Capt. Dan for my friend's birthday. Gorgeous day, beautiful ship, and smooth sailing all the way (if you will). Dan was a very gracious host, letting us 'help' in the sailing process if we wanted to, and letting us run off like toddlers to take pictures of the sea lions and dolphins at a... More

My wife and I had high expectations for this trip. Captain Dan lived up to them 100%! From the beginning he was open to taking us where we wanted, feed us what we wanted, and show us what interested us from hiking and kayaking, sailing lessons, to all the wildlife around the Channel Islands. What was unexpected was what a... More

I surprised my husband for his birthday for a 2 hour sail along the coast. It was a perfect day! Capt. Dan was a wonderful. He met us at the dock, showed us around. We had such relaxing time and he even let my husband sail (we used to own a sail boat) which he absolutely loved. I would definitely... More

It was great sailing with the two of you. There's nothing like the smile you get from someone who loves to sail but is getting his hand on the helm for the first time in a long time. BTW - love the shastapants nom de mer. Hope to sail with you again soon. More

Wonderful experience from my 98 Year old Grandparent to the 11 year old Mind craft master. Patient Captain Dan single handed the 42' Yacht with 6 passengers with ease for a very pleasant 3 hour sailing tour. Sent us some nice Pixs and great memories. Considering the weekend trip with the Kids just hoping the weather and cell signal will... More

We celebrated my brother's 60th birthday with family and friends. What a surprise it was to him and we couldn't have asked for better everything. Captain Dan has a wealth of information, the yacht was beautiful, he found a whale for us and 2 different kinds of dolphins as we sailed to Anacapa Island. I would not have changed a... More

If you can do a day trip over to Channel Islands and rent a kayak you are in for a treat. The water is stunning you will see seals swimming around and get to go in and out of caves. You can also swim, hike and see a non commercialized island. I almost don't want to tell you in fear... More

My husband and I did a 2 hour evening tour just before sunset. I'm 37 weeks pregnant but still wanted to do something somewhat adventurous for our last weekend trip together before becoming parents... I had the idea of sailing for the first time, and it turned out to be great! The ride was pretty smooth overall and very enjoyable!... More

We were looking at spending a day out in Channel Islands with 2 teens and 4 lazy adults (not into hiking much) so we looked into: cruise boat + kayaking OR private sailing + kayaking with Captain Dan... and chose the awesome luxury sailing trip! WHAT A PERFECT TREAT!!!! Seriously it is only $35 more per person vs cruise+kayaks... to... More
