Owner description: Capt. Dan is a Coast Guard licensed master and American Sailing Association instrutor. Sail with him for a few hours or up to several days, exploring the Channel Islands ... or take private lessons. We have two yachts, one economy and one luxury boat built in France and we are the only company offering sailing eco-tours of California's Channel Islands. Our islands are often described as the Galapagos of North American and abound in sea life from whales, to dolphins to fish that ride here on either a southern current or the northern one. Ashore, you will find a landscape mostly clear of humans and protected by the National Park Service and the Nature Conservancy. Human civilization dates back some 10,000 years here, but only a handful of caretakers live here now. Come with us and step back in history 200 years, step away from civilization.

Besides running a first-rate charter service, Capt. Dan is an instructor with the American Sailing Association. He methodically wrote eight study guides to help his fellow instructor captains review an extremely difficult ASA course on coastal navigation. His level of knowledge and experience is awesome.

Our time spent aboard the Wiley with Capt. Dan was worth every penny. His knowledge, experience, and humble approach to teaching was very much appreciated. We took they day trip as a chance to learn the basics to sailing and find out if it is something that we would like to pursue as a hobby. Short answer-yes... Long-answer- Capt. Dan... More

4 of us spent the weekend out with Captain Dan and Dennis and when we left we parted as great friends. We had wonderful experiences and Captain Dan is a great guy. We encountered some difficult conditions with some fog and some inexperienced other boaters and Captain Dan handled it all with aplomb, while keeping a fun and safe environment.... More

Words can't express enough how wonderful our experience was with Captain Dan. We decided to have a memorial service for my father in open sea. Captain Dan made everything so easy from my first phone call to him to our last steps off the boat. He was kind, knowledegable and understood that although the occassion was sad, we wanted the... My husband and I decided to take a (day) sailing trip much like I used to do as a kid on our 27 foot sailboat. It was very similar but all we had to do was sit back and enjoy the scenery. Captain Dan was so friendly, knowledgable and professional, and knows how to handle a boat in any condition.... More

Disclaimer: It seems expensive and at first glance it is. That said, an hour after you have left the dock you will have forgotten how much it cost and even that you paid for it at all. The air, the sea the boat and Captain Dan will make it seem that you have been invited to spend the weekend on... More

My wife and I spent a wonderful day sailing to Anacapa with Captain Dan. The Channel Islands are a national treasure as well as a national park, and I am so glad we got to go and see them. I am an experienced sailor and Dan let me sail as much as I wanted. My wife just wanted to relax... More

What a perfect way to celebrate my 50th birthday! Captain Dan was fun, professional and knowledgable. Our family had such a great time sailing the Sancerre, kayaking with sea lions, seeing dolphins, learning about the local islands and of course enjoying a wonderful lunch on board (the lemon bars were fantastic). A memorable day for everyone and we were so... More

It's always great to sail with folks who have as much fun as your family packed into our short trip. I haven't seen Leo since we sailed, but will send him your regards when we do. You got the very best wildlife pictures that have ever been taken from our boat. If you get a chance, post some here at... More

I had a wonderful experience sailing with Captain Dan for my Father’s 75th birthday. The sailboat is large enough to comfortably accommodate 6 guests. Captain Dan is a sailing expert and very well informed about everything from the nautical experience to the animal life and history of the Channel Islands. I felt very safe and relaxed on the sea for... More

It was a perfect day with Captain Dan sailing the Channel Islands to say goodbye to both my husband and his father. From the beginning with making all the plans, Dan responded promptly to my emails and was extremely flexible and accommodating with my wishes regarding the ceremony and location. As Chaplain, Dan spoke during the ceremony and his words... More
