First of all, the boat is a fishing boat, not a touring boat, so there is limited seating (2 benches and a bulkhead) which is hard and has no back, no food or drinks were offered, despite my ticket saying a light lunch would be served. It was really cold and we had not brought jackets because it was a... More

I knew to expect bait on this trip, but didn't think I'd be the one taking it! First the Groupon deal for the Seafari appeared to be a decent price, but by the advertisement, we were lead to believe it was a whale watch. The whale watch price was about the same without the Groupon deal, so I’m not sure... More

Our skipper lengthened our trip as we followed an orca pod for about an hour....amazing. We saw three types of whales, Californian seals, dolphins and the orcas. We were not dressed warmly enough; windproof hooded jackets and warm layers underneath for spring, winter and autumn I imagine.

First, the boat was sparkling clean. The Skipper was wonderful and gave a great narration. We saw a blue whale (these are rare), several humpbacks, and one was a mother and a baby that came right up to the boat while we were stopped. Plus, there were hundreds of dolphins that were jumping, doing back flips, and riding the bow... More

Boats are tiny Fishing Boats not tailored to you and me out for a relaxing whale watching experience. The food is like a bagged lunch if you get their special "with a meal" via Groupon. Not enough seating or attention to detail. The service out of the Ventura Harbor has better boats, more fun and much nicer. And the groupon... More

We went out on the Coral Sea run by Channel Island Sport Fishing in Oxnard. The crew were good and we felt like we were in good hands the whole time. The captain talked and explained quite a bit about the ocean depths and the path we'd take looking for whales. In addition there was a naturalist from the CI... More

Whale watching boats want you to be able to say you saw, live, what you paid for. We did near the very end of the trip,AND, the captain made sure he trailed the whale for almost half an hour so everyone got photo opps. The whale was not breaching, just snorkeling so it only showed its entire self every five... More

The crew was excellent. Kept us informed, explained why sonar couldn't be used. When we finally saw whales, we were able to stay out just a little bit longer to get those great pistures and memories.

This was a trip that my husband and I bought on Travel Zoo and I'm very glad that we didn't pay full price. First impressions always important so our trips to the restrooms at their marina headquarters were not a good start. Need a good steam cleaning in there! On the ship - the sound system did not work properly... More

We left on time and returned on time. No whales but the crew managed to find dolphins, sea lions and seals for us to see. A pelican latched on and travelled with us part of the trip. Boat was clean, crew was nice and they had snacks and drinks you could purchase. Nice trip.
