I think that the Lady Bird Johnson Grove was my favorite redwood grove but I’m not really sure why. It was serene, quiet, stately and majestic, but many of the other groves would qualify for those adjectives. There was something about its simplicity and it was here that I truly felt I was in a cathedral of trees. I hiked... More

We asked the Ranger at Kuchel Visitor's Center what they would recommend if someone only had a short time to visit the park and she suggested Lady Bird Johnson Grove loop. It's a relatively flat, 1.5 mile roundtrip hike and well worth the trip. During our walk, we enjoyed a gentle rain mixed with a 15-minute sunny break. The forest... More

This hiking area is peaceful and beautiful! Once you leave the parking lot one can escape the noise of people and see/hear nature....

We found the walk through the Lady Bird Johnson Grove to be very enjoyable. We grabbed one of the free trail guides and it helped us to learn more about the Coast redwood trees and the environment that they live in. I would recommend taking this walk if you can.

This is an easy, 1.6 km loop through the redwoods. The trees aren’t as impressive or as dense as those lower down in the park and the primeval atmosphere (damp dripping understory and ferns) is lacking but it’s still a very pleasant way to spend an hour. Flowering azaleas and rhododendron make this an appealing choice in June, while autumn... More

This is a good hike and easy through a nice Redwood forest. There's some really cool trees, but we seen better ones along the Avenue of Giants. It's a twisty drive to get to the parking lot, but it's worth the trip.

Our family had a wonderful time visiting. We thought the information pamphlet had great historical information as well. Our family of 4 had a fun time exploring through the redwoods on the trail. Great photo opportunities that we certainly took advantage of.

This is a beautiful grove of giant Redwoods with easy hiking trails. Yes the road is steep and narrow in places but we drove up there in a 30ft RV so it's not so bad. It is also an access road for huge lumber trucks which seem to be up and down all day, so watch out for these. The... More

It is a steep road that leads to this grove. Our former First Lady was devoted to conservation. This trail is easy to walk and level. Follow along with the pamphlet to various points along the trail. It is crowded. It is a special place not to be missed.
