This is an easy, 1.6 km loop through the redwoods. The trees aren’t as impressive or as dense as those lower down in the park and the primeval atmosphere (damp dripping understory and ferns) is lacking but it’s still a very pleasant way to spend an hour. Flowering azaleas and rhododendron make this an appealing choice in June, while autumn... More

This is a good hike and easy through a nice Redwood forest. There's some really cool trees, but we seen better ones along the Avenue of Giants. It's a twisty drive to get to the parking lot, but it's worth the trip.

Our family had a wonderful time visiting. We thought the information pamphlet had great historical information as well. Our family of 4 had a fun time exploring through the redwoods on the trail. Great photo opportunities that we certainly took advantage of.

This is a beautiful grove of giant Redwoods with easy hiking trails. Yes the road is steep and narrow in places but we drove up there in a 30ft RV so it's not so bad. It is also an access road for huge lumber trucks which seem to be up and down all day, so watch out for these. The... More

It is a steep road that leads to this grove. Our former First Lady was devoted to conservation. This trail is easy to walk and level. Follow along with the pamphlet to various points along the trail. It is crowded. It is a special place not to be missed.

We stopped here again after many years and found it was still a special place. The road up is a bit steep, but doable in most cars and trucks. Mostly there is a trail through the redwood forest, which is always a bit magical. The trail is well maintained and we enjoyed it.

The well maintained, unpaved trail was an easy walk for people of all ages. The pamphlet provided interesting information about the redwoods and the surrounding environment. A leisurely self guided tour was easy to complete in about 1-2 hours. We enjoyed seeing a wide variety of trees and wildlife such as birds and chipmunks.

The grove is part of the Redwood parks system. The trees are very impressive! The only negative is that the drive up to the grove is steep and windy, not easy on the sedan we were driving.

Beautiful self directed hike; has a pamphlet that you can access at the beginning of the hike that helps you to understand the history of the area.
