This is a great place for anyone, really, but especially families and those who might want or need to take a more leisurely walk along a very gentle, flat trail, covered in redwood chips. It circles back to the parking lot, so no worries about getting lost. The redwood trees here are awesome in the true sense of the word.... More

This trail was our favorite because the trees are so awesome. Lady Bird Johnson made beautifying America her cause and this grove honors her efforts. Parking was ok- didn't try the restrooms. Pick up a trail guide to enhance your walk. We didn't but wish we had. It was so quiet and peaceful on the trail. Pictures don't do it... More

The road to the grove is winding and narrow but worth it. The hike is easy, beautiful, informative and peaceful. Easy to find off 101.

There is a short hiking trail originating from the parking lot. Along the trail are flowering bushes, maybe rhododendron, that are very pretty. Also, the size of the trees is amazing. They're not quite as big as the Sequoias but they are very tall. When I was there in July, the outhouse at the parking lot needed to be cleaned.... More

The year after Redwood N.P. Was founded this beautiful grow was dedicated to Ladybird Johnson. The trail winds through the misty grove and you are guided by a numbered brochure available at the trailhead. The trail is a short loop easily doable by young and old. This is definitely an important old growth forest to visit.

Parking is super difficult here due to a tiny parking lot. Get here early in the morning to have the best chance of getting a spot and a relaxing trip into Lady Bird Grove.

We stopped here on our way touring down the coast through the redwoods, and this was by far our favourite part of the redwoods. It was all the more atmospheric in that there was low cloud or mist hanging around the tree tops, and when you looked up the trees just seemed to go on for ever, disappearing into another... More

This is an upland trail (1,200ft above sea level), quite short and flat and easily accessible, it's also close to the Kuchel Visitor Centre. Not the most interesting or picturesque, but well worth doing if you can grab one of the two ranger walk/talks that they do twice a day (at least in high season). I'm a big fan of... More

If you want to see redwoods and cannot make a long hike, this is a nice option. There is no fee to access the grove, and I had no problem parking on a summer afternoon. There are some nice big trees in the grove and it is historical since the national park was dedicated here. Each redwood park in the... More

This was our first stop of the day and it set the tone for the remainder of our time in the Redwoods. The hike is short but easy and allows you to appreciate the size and grandeur of the Redwoods. The self guided tour provides interesting facts about the trees and history of the area. We were here for approximately... More
