This place is not an attraction. It is a community that has found away to combine their resources and passions to create a beautiful of community living. They share their knowledge through OAEC so that anyone who is interested can learn. They do have a nursery that has special hours, volunteer work days and scheduled tours, it you are lucky... More

OAEC is an amazing place in rural Sonoma County, Calif. near Occidental. They raise plants, give tours, have events, and the people working there are so informative and helpful. We were greeted at the entry and given instructions on where to go. We visited on a Sunday at a sale which happen several times a year, and are looking forward... More

Whether you are an ecologist, a gardener, gardening apprentice, garden lover or just have an appreciation for what can be done with dedication to the outdoors, then a visit at the OAEC is a must. Sondra was so sweet, not trying to " sell" us on anything!, of course we bought because their wines are wonderful!!!!
