The new name of the winery...... more » NOT the Mondavi Winery, this is what used to be the Vichon Winery, acquired in 1985 by the Mondavi family and Associates. The new name of the winery in 1997 reflects its production focus: all Italian varietals like sangiovese, nebbiolo, moscato bianco and barbera. With a spectacular panoramic view of the Napa Valley, the grounds are nicely landscaped and tables can be reserved for $25 (includes a bottle of wine) at the popular picnic area. Visitors can browse for gifts in an Italian marketplace and tasting is free. « less
