Founded in 1998 by Dave & Emily Miner along with his folks Ed & Norma, Miner is defined first and foremost by a sensational portfolio of wines, wines consistently characterized by and committed to individualistic style and uncommon quality. In only a few short years, Miner has identified, sought and secured a number of California's finest vineyard sites to produce and showcase a wide array of varietals. Each wine is crafted in a style to encapsulate the distinctive elements and the indelible fingerprints of their respective vineyards. This combination of excellent vineyard sites along with passionate and thoughtful winemaking injects the necessary components for creating profoundly joyful wines. « less

I come to Napa quite often and Miner family winery is always a must stop. The people that work the tasting bar are much younger than the average age in Napa, but still very knowledgeable. After 3 o'clock the place gets crazy busy and there is a small bar area to taste at. The best thing about Miner is that... More

This was the first stop on our wine tour where we decided not to purchase anything other than the tasting. The bar area was very busy, as was the patio area. The tasting bar seemed to be well enough staffed, but the server was less than interested in telling us anything about the wines other than the name of each... More

Had a great time here and joined the wine club. Best wines I have tried and outstanding tour with James! Cannot wait to return with my husband. They were very well run and could tell they cared a lot about what they do.

To be fair, I will start by saying that I believe the experience varies significantly based on who conducts your tasting and "tour." We were referred here by friends who had a very different experience. I was also excited to visit after speaking with them on the phone prior to our visit, as they were very friendly. The best part... More

We visited the estate on January 2nd and it was a highlight of the entire trip. We took 2 selection of 5 wines each and even had a tour of the facilities. The service from Mike was the best. If you plan a wine tour in Napa be sure to include Miner on the list.

If you are a first timer to Napa Valley make sure you stop by Miner Winery. They are perfectly located in Oakville which is in the middle of the valley and offer some outstanding wines. James Peterson and staff will ensure you not only taste some outstanding wines but also show you great hospitality. Schedule a cave tour and sit... More

We visited Nov 24th, 2013. I had never heard of Miner but was pleasantly surprised. We did the tasting which did not disappoint. Each person could chose 5 tastes ($25) from the long list of wines available. It even included their higher end wines. The servers were very knowledgeable and made it very enjoyable. They knew their wines inside and... More

We stopped at the Miner Family Winery near Oakville, California on a early Saturday afternoon during our family outing to the Napa Valley. Four tastings for $100 ($25 each) was very reasonable (especially when Dad's paying, which would be me). It's a good thing we got there early as it became very busy. We tasted some great wines. My favorites... More

My wife and I visited Minor in October of 2013 hoping for a cave tour. I had toured their wine cave some 20 years earlier with very fond memories and wanted the same experience for my wife. We were not disappointed. Without a reservation, and on what looked like a very busy day for them, JP was gracious enough to... More

We are familiar with Miner wines and feel they are decent for the price point. We tried a few at the tasting room that we had not seen before. They were ok, but ... not our favorite wines. When we were there the tasting room was very crowded. It took us a while to be able to step up to... More
