Loved the smallness of this winery. Delish Zinfadel. Jessica was AMAZING! Would recommend to anyone.
Everything I would look for in a winery: Small, rustic, friendly, and welcoming with a few picnic tables outside. The wines are good, especially the Cabernets, but they have a good range of varietals to choose from for those who prefer something different. The winery was unpretentious, and I especially liked being greeted by Chloe, the resident dog. They do... More
Spent a couple hours at saddleback cellars tasting and having a picnic at their picnic tables (we brought our own lunch from oakville grocery). 6 wines to taste for $20 fee. All delicious! The people who work there are so friendly. This is not a fancy place, kind of rustic, but such nice people and great wine. A real personal... More
This is the anthesis of the big opulent, corporate Highway 29 Napa Winery experience! Located off the Oakville Cross Road next to Groth, and slightly off the beaten track. This is no frills, downhome and relaxed, where wine tastings are conducted outside on a picnic table next to the non-descript building that's the winery! For a Texan, I felt totally... More
My husband and I went for a tasting and were very disappointed. The tasting area is very nice it was a beautiful day to sit out on the benches. The wines themselves we ok not to my liking but the worse part of the experience was our taster. We had a appointment and a very nice lady greeted us and... More
Get Along Little Doggie's! Great people here, wish I could recall his name - my favorite winery on our trip & even my fav over all the winery's I've visited for being hospitable, such a laid back western feel...we simply can't say enough but find this place & see for yourself!
I had set up an appointment for a tasting, but upon arrival, the guy in the tasting room seemed shock to see us. Gave us a good quick and dirty tasting, nothing fancy, filled our glasses right as they were empty and gave us a rundown of what we were tasting. Wound up buying a bottle for a friend who... More
We had a lovely wine tasting experience at Saddleback Cellars. While the wines were the highlight of our visit (Nils Venge makes great wines!), what made it special was tasting the wines while sitting outside among the vines. The young lady who presented the wines was personable and quite knowledgeable about each wine. It makes a big difference when you... More
Inexpensive wine, beautiful property, pleasant time discussing the production withi the owner imself and, most important, wonderful and surprising wine. Don't waste the opportuni to put a couple of zinfandels in your cellar with the best possible relation of cost x benefit.
Great small winery. Very small personal tasting room. Weather was not great so we were actually inside next to the barrels, essentially in the store. Very good wine. Highly recommended stop. No tour and small but a great place.
