Saddleback Cellars, established in 1982, is a small, rustic winery located in the heart of the Napa Valley in the Oakville appellation. Its estate vineyard produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Grigio and Zinfandel. Known as "The King of Cabernet," legendary winemaker and owner, Nils Venge, has been making stellar Cabernet Sauvignon, along with many other varietals here since its establishment. Saddleback has long made killer Cabs and Zinfandel but variety is our specialty! We like to produce fun wines for fun people, including Pinot Blanc, Albarino, Vermentino, Sangiovese, Syrah, and many more. If you have a sweet tooth be sure to ask about our Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc and Zinfandel. Please give us a call and come in for a tasting! Feel free to picnic on tables alongside our Pinot Blanc vineyard, enjoy some good old country music, and experience Napa the way it used to be . Come have fun the Saddleback way!

My wife and I enjoyed this small winery along with another couple. Very personalized treatment by Bob who provided loads of information about the winery, the growing and bottling processes, and each wine. Added a touch of humor as we went through the tasting options. Superb wines and no crowds. Put this one on the top of your list!

What a fun, relaxed, and casual experience. Our itinerary was structured to experience an eclectic collection of wineries - all different experiences. This was certainly different! None of the structured (and sometimes pretentious) offerings of the big wineries here. Sat in the sunshine on the picnic tables, where we enjoyed the wines and Bob! Wines were perfectly acceptable, and the... More

Hi PJ, Thank you so much for your great review. As a small business that operates mostly on word of mouth we really appreciate all the good talk we can get! I am glad you enjoyed your time with Bob, he's quite the character at times. I hope he didn't have the country music cranked too loud though! Thanks again... More

Golden sunshine, really good wines, and on-it service. We took our time to talk and savor and eat our picnic lunch under an red umbrella about 20 ft away from rows and rows of grapes. Out of 6 wines on the tasting list, the Zin and Cabernet were the best in my opinion, but they all were good. And don't... More

We visited here having visited some of the boutique wineries in the area. It was recommended by our driver. We had a nice tasting session but the wines were only ok. the staff were very friendly and the toilet is worth a visit-dedicated to John Wayne!! It's very funny. the tasting fee us is very reasonable and you get to... More

you must be determined to get here and when you arrive there is the question "am I in the right place". The answer is yup you are pardoner. Saddleback is laid back and unpretentious but more than worth the visit for moderate priced wine from a great winemaker. To add more value they ship your wine for free, who else... More

Very small winery. Non-offensive wine choices. Seems to be riding the "I'm a wine made in Napa valley" card as far as it can. Overall nothing bad, nothing to write home about. Big picture: Not worth precious time you have in Napa Valley. Tip: picnic area outside is great for eating lunch before seeing Silver Oak (Across the street)

Everything I would look for in a winery: Small, rustic, friendly, and welcoming with a few picnic tables outside. The wines are good, especially the Cabernets, but they have a good range of varietals to choose from for those who prefer something different. The winery was unpretentious, and I especially liked being greeted by Chloe, the resident dog. They do... More
