I remembered this place (especially the Old Woman in the Shoe at the entrance) from trips I took to the Bay Area when I was 3, 4 and 5! But my memory placed it as part of the S.F. Zoo. When I was looking for "kid things to do in the Bay Area" for our family's vacation, I rediscovered this... More

This place is a total wonderland for tiny people who still love fairies and stories! Not for pre-teens. This is for little little people who could just play on a jungle gym for hours...oh wait there is like 10 jungle gyms inside!! Totally worth the trip! Also the fried zucchini and sweet potato fries were delicious!

What a joyous place for children, on the shore of Lake Merritt! No adults allowed unless with a child. You enter through the Old Mother Goose Shoe, and have to stoop a little to get in. There's a train which traverses the grounds. There is an Alice in Wonderland experience, complete with a Down the Rabbit Hole slide. Fairyland is... More

This is like a fairyland for kids. Small structures, shady areas, bright colors, pirate ships, small choo choo train, goblins, old west post office and hotel, fun slides, tunnels - all these structures are small and easily accessible by kids. They kept in mind that children like to touch and feel and this is how it was designed. The admission... More

Children's Fairyland has been around since 1950. I've been going there since I've been a child. Put your cell phones and iPads away. Children's Fairyland is where you go and interact with animals, watch live puppet shows, and listen to fairy tales operated by our magic keys. We have a marvelous Children's theater too. Where else can you go listen... More

Me, my sister, her 10 month old son, and my 6 year old daughter went on a Sunday afternoon. Admission was $8 a person. Under 1 is free. We paid $5 to park. They had a cute puppet show, good reasonably priced food, cute farm animals, and fun kiddie rides. We spent about 2.5 hours there. It wasn't too crowded.... More

Fairyland is ALWAYS a winner with my kid. i don't think I have even seen the entire park yet (been there at least 5 times), because my kid can't get past a couple of the attractions at the front. We can spend HOURS there and he come home tired and happy. That makes me a happy mama. Don't expect this... More

There are a lot of better places in the San Francisco area to take your kids. Visited with my almost 3 year old grandson. The age range for this place is probably from about 3 to 8 years old. But, Unfortunately, it was filled with children on school trips children that took over the place and ran wild. Very poor... More

Located within the Lake Merritt park grounds, this little gem for the little folks is bound to captivate them. The simple but colorful exhibits bring the world of fairytales to life. The bright colors, gardens and small animals all delight the 3 to 8 year olds. All the old stories: Old Lady in a Shoe, Jack and Jill, Alice in... More
