Walt Disney got his origin inspiration form Fairyland, but it's way more original! A sweet and friendly experience for kids 2-8 or so, with puppet shows and play performances in the summer. No adults admitted without a child, either-- so it really is just families.

Went with a Groupon and was pleasantly surprised. It's cute and specifically geared towards young children (under 5ish) she loved the miniature merry go round, the train ride, and the fairytale look of the place. A little too young for the puppet and magic show but she enjoyed watching the older kids laugh and interact with the shows. Found street... More

This park is all about the children. We enjoyed going to Children's Fairyland. The park has storybook sets, rides, and animals. There is also some entertainment. Its nice that it is located by Lake Merritt. The park has been open since 1950.

This is one place they do not allow adults unless they are with children. A safe place for kids to have some fun in the middle of Oakland in the Lake Merritt Area. They have some great stuff for the kids to explore, stories and plays for the kids. Lots of fun for kids 5 and under.

This place is an Oakland staple, and like Oakland it is a little run down but we love it anyway. They have adult nights where you can go drink beer and run around like a child. No admission without a child during regular hours, aka no creepers. I think it worth getting the magnetic key to hear the stories. Good... More

No doubt about it - this is a place for children and those young at heart. I like the reading room where you can plop down in a comfortable beanbag, select a stack of books and read with your grandchildren. The small garden is interesting and it is fun teaching the children what the different plants are. The plays are... More
