There's a speakers series in Oakland; all of the world renown speakers comment on the grandness of this building. It is an architectural classic. If you are in Oakland, and time or the lack of events dictates---there are tours available. Totally worth it.

This theatre was recently renovated back to its former glory, and it has great sound. Attended an Oakland symphony performance last week for an East meets West concert which was wonderful.

The Paramount is a fully restored old style theatre in the Art Deco style on Broadway in Oakland. The restoration took this place back to what it used to be in the 60's and 70's, and is amazingly beautiful inside. They have a number of different performances there, both live and film, including the Oakland Symphony Orchestra and the Oakland... More

Beautiful interior and exterior, a classic venue with many interesting acts traveling through. There are always classic movie nights and the Oakland Symphony Orchestra and Oakland Ballet showing up here regularly.

tour conducted by knowledgeable gentleman, facility is most impressive....lots of history. Restoration is beautifully done. They certainly don't make theatres this way anymore.

Concerts & movies at this beautifully restored 1931 movie palace are a true experience! You've been transported the moment entering the awe inspiring Lobby with sweeping staircases and gilt & colorful Art Deco designs wrapping the walls & ceiling. Upper levels are equally incredible in design with "full" bars available thru out the venue for beverages & snacks. Once you've... More

We attended an event here. This is definitely a place not to miss, the interior throws you into another time, and there are plenty of details along the walls, carpet, overall. Do come earlier than the start of what brings you here - to take some time to enjoy this beautifully designed gem. Lake Merrit is not too far away,... More

I agree with all the reviews that this is a spectacularly beautiful theater and a great venue to see live shows. However, for those with difficulty climbing stairs, be aware that you need to purchase the most expensive seats on the lower level, as there is no elevator or other means to get to the balcony other than climbing at...
