Clean, on the water with descent restaurants and shops. It appeared a bit underused but a nice resource for Oakland. Ferry service is available back to S.F...nice

we took a detour to go to JLS and enjoy a walk. First time visit. Well marked, easy underground parking. This is a restaurant destination, not really any shops to talk about. The farmers market is Sunday until 2 pm. Don't make this a destination for shopping, you will be disappointed. Too bad, this is a lovely urban oasis for... More

Our first night there (we were staying at the Waterfront Hotel), we encountered an outdoor DJ & people dancing about having a good time. The next day, there was a bikefest festival going on with lots of fun booths, food, music, and of course bikes. That night there was a movie playing and people sitting on lawnchairs & such enjoying... More

I treated my family to a night at Jack London's Square and I was so happy we were able to go. We went later in the evening so we could watch the sunset and it was absolutely beautiful. Being able to sit on the boating dock was a great way to end the night.

Beautifully developed and very well kept lovely walking area with good restaurants. Could do with a grocery shop badly. Good base for San Fran with ferry stop right on your door.

Nearby, you can catch a boat to San Francisco, and following a day in SF, you can return for a great choice of meals right nearby. You can stay for jazz and a meal at Yoshis, or great food at a number of restaurants right in the Square.

Watch the water, boats, birds, and people in a relaxed atmosphere. Great restaurants, dine inside or out.

I love the Sunday brunch at Scott's for their variety of food but also for the music. I visited when Marcella Hooks and her band was playing and they were awesome. They had a variety of songs and styles that complemented the delicious food. Good place to vist.

Went to the Square and found it in decline from when I was there several years ago. It is a GEM in Oakland that needs to be brought back to it original splendor. It certainly could be. There are a few anchor places i.e. Toshi's, that remain find places for a great meal. They need more business around them to... More

Jack London Square is a commercial area and communal gathering place, located at the foot of Broadway, in Oakland, CA. It must first be stated, that Jack London Square is the site of Yoshi's, a concert hall that do votes itself to that most truly American art form, known as "jazz." Yoshi's mainly features national acts, including musicians (and composers)... More
