I brought two of my sons, aged 17 and 14, to Jack London Square just to check it out and see if there was anything fun going on. We were there the same day as the dragon boat races, so we got to see some people paddling in a boat and sitting under tents...hoo boy. My youngest son had recently... more

We were at the square in early June and it was chilly. The place was not at all crowded so it was nice to walk around and enjoy the scene. We were going to take the Ferry which we heard was a nice ride but their timings were not great. It looked like they only ran every 6 hours or... more

Even though it is on the website and in all the guide books, the Jack London Village was bulldozed three years ago! We found this out only after we were in Oakland. But the Square is a sunny place on the marina with some great restaurants, a few shops, and a very relaxing openness. We had a great weekend. more
