Considered one of the five best dinner trains in the West, the historic Sierra operates year-round from the town of Oakdale, CA (near Modesto & Stockton, and on a main route to the Gold Country & Yosemite). Romantic sunset dinners and murder mystery shows are the most well known trips. We also offer brunches, lunches, wild west shows & a trip where you ride out but then raft back! Trips take 3+ hours.

I went on the dinner train a while ago for a company sponsored event and I will never do this again due to the poor service and the intoxicated servants

This was our first year on the zombie train. We have visited in the past for the Christmas train and New year's eve dinner train reach an enjoyable experience in their own right. The zombie train was very entertaining. It may be little intense for the very young, but any zombie fans and going to have a great time.

This is a bit of a departure from the norm. I enjoy train travel, and Americana. They have a number of theme rides and the trip is fun and scenic. They have talked for years about using Steam Engines and I wish they would. It would make it even better.

Bad acting, food not very good chicken Dry and salmon Dry. Too expensive for what you get. Have to be mostly drunk before there is any comedy in it.

As our granddaughter loves train rides, our family of six took her on the Christmas Train Ride. The staff was very friendly but we were crammed into a booth in a very warm train car. The two of us sitting on the end seats had one cheek hanging off the entire ride. The train car was very warm and with... More

There were ten of us total. We all had a good time with drinks and food. We had not seen each other in about eight years, that to was why we enjoyed the trip so much.

It's really fun eating on a train, and the food was OK the day I was on it. The waiters were nice, but like Alex K said, what a horrible train trip. The name is misleading. You might see the Sierras from Oakdale on a clear day, but you won't get anywhere near them on this trip. There is nothing... More

My husband and I drove over 100 miles to participate in this dinner train ride this past Saturday. We were stuck in traffic and I had contacted their office to alert them of such. Their representative was really nice and said they'd wait for us. We got there at 4:56 pm. 4 minutes before departure and she was nice enough... More
