Good little Novato has done what too few cities have done - preserved the old time authenticity of their town. Plus they've repurposed old buildings into functioning shops, boutiques and restaurants. Wonderful to see urban renewal which preserves history. Enjoy! ...

This was an interesting little area with a lot of little shops and restaurants. It was fairly easy to find a place to park when we went there. I enjoyed it, but just don't expect too much.

It's slowly improving! Hoping when the theater gets fixed up next year we will have a thriving Old Town! Love Finnegan's for Tuesday trivia, Powell's for candy, lots of cute gift shops to browse, Batik Indian restaurant is great, omg Flourchylde Bakery is AMAZING and then there's Whole Foods......

High praise for the citizens of Novato and their elected Council. They've created a great business core without destroying the authentic Americana small town ambience.

What a quaint area of the downtown. Fabulous restaurants and boutiques shops. Parking can be limited along the boulevard, but the side streets and several larger lots accommodate the old town area well. It's a great place for a romantic meal and stroll, a cocktail with friends or just for desert. Family friendly too ! 1 ! Powell's is a... More

My friends and I love to come to Old Town for shopping,(lots of great boutiques) lunch, and just strolling around town. Next year the Novato Theater will be open! Everyone is looking forward to finally have our theater back. There are lots of great restaurants as well. My hairdresser is located in Old Town also

Novato's downtown offers a variety of shopping and some of the best Thai, Indian, Mexican, and All-American restaurants in all of Marin County, CA. I enjoy supporting many of the small businesses. There is the cutest Toy Store named Five Little Monkeys, a consignment store where I have been able to sell a few pieces from my closet, a cleaners,... More

Parking is an issue. There are some very nice cafes and bars and shops. Keep in mind it is only a few blocks long

Was there for the street fair. Old town blocked off and dozens of vendors, crafts, wine and beer, all sorts of goodies. Wonder day and fun experience.

Some cute shops and several really good restaurants, but Old Town Novato is just a couple of blocks along the eastern end of Grant Street. On Tuesdays from 4 - 8 pm, there's a really nice farmers' market on the western end of Grant Street which is blocked off for pedestrian-only access.
