Parking is an issue. There are some very nice cafes and bars and shops. Keep in mind it is only a few blocks long

Was there for the street fair. Old town blocked off and dozens of vendors, crafts, wine and beer, all sorts of goodies. Wonder day and fun experience.

Some cute shops and several really good restaurants, but Old Town Novato is just a couple of blocks along the eastern end of Grant Street. On Tuesdays from 4 - 8 pm, there's a really nice farmers' market on the western end of Grant Street which is blocked off for pedestrian-only access.

My great grandparents built two of the buildings in Old Town in the 1920's and 1933 which are still there and look quite similar to the original building. Almost all of the buildings have a real history which is pretty interesting. Variety of shops with unique stuff. The only down side is the lack of parking. It is quite a... More

Old town doesn't have much to draw tourists. There are a couple of restaurants, some specialty shops and a McDonalds. Highlights would be Mi Pueblo restaurant, the new Smash Burger and Perry's Deli.

Novato. Old Town, neither old nor Quaint. Thera are a few restaurants and shops within a few blocks but not a destination. Spend a couple of hours here and a few bucks to show support to local business surrounded by sprawl. Great job ruining a nice town,

They embrace their heritage by keeping their old town alive. Many of the shops here have been around forever and still keep their old timey look. The selection of businesses drive this neighborhood. I love it.

Not like many "old town" areas. A little more downmarket than many, but nicely verdant and with a healthy variety of stores. Not at all "touristy," which we appreciated.

I live in Novato and shop here frequently. There are nice women's clothing boutiques, specialty gift shops, restaurants, a great bakery, and antique/consignment shops. There is a nice jewelers and other services. The area is basically one street (Grant), about five level blocks. Parking is free and usually available. It is great for walking and perusing, for gift shopping, for... More

The shops vary in merchandise, so almost everything can be purchased in Old Town. The merchants are friendly and helpful. There are many unique items to buy which make your home unique and gifts really appreciated.
