Had a fantastic time walking around the bay and taking in the sites. The center at the top of the bay had lots of information about the local wildlife. As we went on Earth Day weekend they had extra exhibits With live animals. Visit their website before you go to check what's on.

This popular area has been used by locals for years for bike riding, walking, jogging, dog walking and especially for bird watching as it's a major stopover for migrating birds. It's also an entry point for kayakers to use the Back Bay waterways. There isn't any shade so it's better during the morning or evening hours, especially in summer, even... More

Away from the highways and the hustle, used by locals for kayaking and for walking and jogging. Small interpretive nature center. Good parking.

It was a nice park. Looked like it was made more for bike riding as the trails were long and there were a lot of bikes. There wasn't any shade.

During the winter season the Back Bay is home to migrating birds on the Pacific fly way. A narrow one way road is shared with cars, bikes and runners. The bird watching and photography is excellent with lots of waterfowl and others.

Impressive to have such a nice preserve in the middle of one of the more expensive residential areas in southern California. Good visitor center; there was a lot for younger children to do in their classroom. Walking trails with plenty of signs describing what you seen.

It's hard to believe the is beautiful place is so easily accessed by the 73 fwy. and Jamboree. Parking is available on the street. You can ride your bike, or walk on the paved trail. If you have a horse to ride, there is even specific area along the trail. It's a great way to spend time to get away... More

A total surprise from the suburbs virtually across the highway that winds around it. A huge variety of local wildlife in the open, not behind cages. Very nice visitor center. Great walking trails. Views of the water ways and plants and critters galore. Don't miss it.

Biked the Newport Back Bay Loop Trail from the Hyatt Regency almost to Jamboree Blvd. The paved bike path follows the water, providing many opportunities to spot birds, lizards and other wildlife. While cars can access this road along the back bay, there weren't too many so it's a great route for hikers and joggers as well. It only takes... More
