The Orange County Museum of Art is a smaller museum that houses modern/contemporary artwork. It is close to Fashion Island. The exhibits won't take you more than an hour or so to view. The admission price is $12 which I think is a lot for this museum. While we were there, we viewed the creative work of father and son... More

I decided to swing by the Orange County Museum of Art on a Saturday after learning that the “Sarkisian & Sarkisian” exhibition was going to close in a week. It had been ages since I visited (hadn’t even been to this building) and I’m glad I checked it out. The OCMA building sits in the midst of a substantial office... More

This museum is tucked away in Fashion Island. You can easily go through the exhibits in less than 1 hour. There are interesting exhibits like bones with threads. My daughter and I enjoyed our time looking at everything.

This museum of art is worth a visit at any time but the present exhibtion by Robert Jackson is a must, it was sad that the staff in the shop go off for lunch without leaving the keys with the front desk as this caused me to have to return 2 days later to buy the bits I wanted the... More

The Orange County Museum of Art has grown up. From its humble beginnings in 1918 as an art association, the OCMA has become an important player in the California art scene and that has implications nationwide. The permanent collection of contemporary California art is one of the best in the state and coupled with the exhibitions that are put together... More

A very daring exhibition in conservative Orange County! It was Richard Jackson's "Ain't Painting a Pain," which is the first retrospective of this radical artist. Imagine, driving up to the museum and seeing a 20 food tall sculpture of a dog in a peeing position next to the building. In alignment with his lifted leg is a splatter of yellow... More

Don't miss this Museum which has astounding exhibitions. Was fortunate to have been able to see the Diebenkorn Exhibition there; having been unable to get to the other Museum venues.

I went on the second Sunday of the Month, Target sponsors free admission. I went to see the Richard Jackson Art Show. On this day, they had an art festival for the kids and adults, doing crafts. The art show it self was very 'fun' and entertaining. It was a very easy walk about. They also provide art classes.

I visited the OCMA during the OC collects exhibition. It contained a very good collection of contemporary and modern artists, including artists such as William de Kooning, Helen Frankenthaler, Ed Ruscha, and Richard Diebenkorn. The museum is in the downtown part of Newport Beach in a building that feels like a warehouse. The floors are painted an industrial gray with... More
