The village is very congested and has minimal parking, but the shops and architecture were very interesting.

This is a place where you can bring your entire family and walk around and do a little shopping a little dining and a little water side strolling. The village needs some much needed TLC, but if you appreciate old charm you'll have a great time.

Walking Balboa Island is the perfect way to spend a relaxing day enjoying the sun, the food and people watching. The views are beautiful and the walk is so enjoyable. Definitely recommend to everyone coming for a visit from out of town.

Probably the coolest thing to do here is to walk around the island and witness the patio lifestyle up close and personal. Locals are VERY friendly!

Not a big place, but the houses are fun to look at and the downtown street so charming with its shops and restaurants. Bookstore very nice. One MUST have a frozen banana--if I lived here, I would be coming here LOTS for that wonderful treat!

A lovely place to wander round at your leisure . The ferry is a dollar each way and you share that with a couple of cars, very quaint. The houses are lovely and it is just nice to stroll along the front of them with the sea on one side. The Main Street has shops and a couple of eateries... More

Had lunch by the Village area then took a stroll along the boardwalk. There is a fun zone, and a few rides for the kids. There were some new fun things to do there since the last time we visited that looked quite different and unique

it's getting better... kind of a tourist area, but fun to go to the funzone and play, check out the museum, beach shops, and get some food at newport landing or go for a boatride! ample parking in parking garage. crowded in summer, but any other time, great!
