Such a quaint village and it feels like a warm community year round. If you are in the Newport Beach area then make time to visit this small village and walk around, window shop and make sure you get a famous balboa bar (ice cream dipped in chocolate and then it can be rolled with different toppings). There are a... More

Loved strolling this area with many restaurants, shops and boutiques. Parking is a nightmare though. Best to park off the island and walk on the ferry.

Be sure to stop here when in SoCal and leave the hustle behind for a few hours. Parking can be a little hectic but the area is so relaxing with the shops and choices of where to eat. Put on your list of things to do when you are in the area.

The village is very congested and has minimal parking, but the shops and architecture were very interesting.

This is a place where you can bring your entire family and walk around and do a little shopping a little dining and a little water side strolling. The village needs some much needed TLC, but if you appreciate old charm you'll have a great time.

Walking Balboa Island is the perfect way to spend a relaxing day enjoying the sun, the food and people watching. The views are beautiful and the walk is so enjoyable. Definitely recommend to everyone coming for a visit from out of town.

Probably the coolest thing to do here is to walk around the island and witness the patio lifestyle up close and personal. Locals are VERY friendly!

Not a big place, but the houses are fun to look at and the downtown street so charming with its shops and restaurants. Bookstore very nice. One MUST have a frozen banana--if I lived here, I would be coming here LOTS for that wonderful treat!

A lovely place to wander round at your leisure . The ferry is a dollar each way and you share that with a couple of cars, very quaint. The houses are lovely and it is just nice to stroll along the front of them with the sea on one side. The Main Street has shops and a couple of eateries... More
