Very crowded and visit only if time permits. One visit lasts for several years. There are several nice restaurants.

If you decide to drive down to Balboa Island, you may panic at the lack of parking on the main street. Never fear. Turn right on any side street and head down 3-4 blocks to find ample street parking. The tourist crowds are pretty heavy, but unless you're into frozen bananas or the usual gift shop items, don't get your... More

It's small but there is plenty to do there with kids. We enjoyed going out on a boat, renting bicycles, and even grabbing a ride on the ferris wheel. There are plenty of restaurants around the corner from the village so don't get stuck just eating random food directly where the village area is next to the ferris wheel since... More

Must see! Such a quaint, but laid back area. It's been around for years, it's unique to many cities with boating associated with it and it's a year-round go-to place to walk, eat, see local artists or ride a bike. You can spend 30 minutes or 3 hours here.

Balboa Island is a small but charming area. There are lovely cottages and multimillion dollar properties along narrow streets. You can walk by the water also. Many shops and a variety of dining options line the street. It is an enjoyable place to spend a couple of hours to shop, dine or just take in the California sunshine and the... More

We really enjoyed our couple hours in the village getting dessert, dinner, fun zone. Unfortunately, other than a sit down meal, Balboa Village can be experienced in 1-2 hrs. Not as many shops although it's a great place to schedule tours and sightseeing.

The Village of Balboa is cute and quaint with street after street of interesting homes. Nothing under $1M here and many are decorated for the season. One street, a long stroll from the ferry landing, is lined with touristy shops and restaurants. I recommend renting bikes and enjoy the views.

The Balboa Village has so many shops and activities. With no admission costs, you can stroll the bayside boardwalk and see the yachts of Newport Harbor. The Fun Zone at Balboa Village provides affordable entertainment for all ages. My wife and I took Fun Zone Boat Company’ s 90-minute harbor and ocean cruise. The boat ride was really nice and... Balboa Village is great because of it's access to the beach, the ferry, the fun zone and the pier. There are a few little shops....but, there are a lot of terrific little restaurants: Great Mex, Harborside, Mint Leaf, Patty Macs, BJs Pizza, Cruisers, Newport Landing and more.
