I kept my sailboat in the Balboa Boat basin for years and always return to scene of the crimes. We had such wonderful times enjoying our friends and the environs of Balboa, Lido and Newport. The little eateries on Marine Ave on the island. The strolls along sea wall, talking to old friends, and making new friends along the way.... More

We found this to be a very pretty little place with a nice holiday vibe. We watched the boat parade every night as we had rented a house on Lido Island and it was amazing ! The restaurants in the village are great and the cupcake shop is worth a visit!! Fresh and tasty! We walked around the village and... More

Very touristy, but we came when we went to watch the boat parade. Great place to see the boats passing by. Very close to Newport Beach pier which is where we went after to see the fireworks.

Great walking or biking. from Newport beach, drive onto ferry for a super quick trip to the village, you can also drive over there but ferry is kinda cool, especially for kids.

Lots of chin and tourist traps nothing special here. I like to walk around but often overrun by weird rude folks . Kind of seedy some times worth a 1/2 day if no other options

Great family or date-night thing to do is walk around Balboa Island at night to see all the beautifully decorated homes and Christmas decorations. An annual thing for our family, we get a bite to eat in Corona Del Mar...then drive over to Balboa and walk and enjoy the Christmas decorations. Fun night for all!

It was quite difficult to find a parking space. The village roads are narrow and quite congested, however we did purchase delicious cupcakes from Small Cakes (pricey but worth it)!!!

Finding a parking was really hard anywhere around newport, but there are good restaurants around the area.

They have torn down most of the buildings and are replacing the area with new buildings. Once completed it should be great. Previously restaurants where boats can dock and eat. It's a mess right now, and the roads on the peninsula are torn up.

The shops were unique but expensive! Too many clothing stores. It appears that they cater to wealthy older ladies by what the shops have to offer. Was really disappointed.
