Its fun to see the play the games that a lot of us grew up on in the 80s and 90s. This place has a lot of the throwbacks and the kids still love to play the classics too. Lots of great food options in the area. Fun place on a Saturday afternoon.

When you get right down to it, retro only goes so far when amusement is involved. This place seriously needs to up its game.

There are now a few rides but the Ferris Wheel is the iconic one. Cute little area but not worth going out of your way for it.

We have enjoyed visiting this funky but fun Balboa Fun Zone. There is a variety of boat cruises one can take from here such as fishing, whale watch, sightseeing, and more. We have enjoyed going on a boat to see the amazing celebrity mansions in this area; we have done it both during Christmas boat parade time and also today... More

There are a lot of little shops with unique "tourist-type" items and beach wear at reasonable prices. It is a fun place to walk. They have several rides, including a ferris wheel. Anytime you're at the Fun Zone, I recommend you eat at the Harborside restaurant where the food is great, large portions, friendly staff, and very reasonable prices, which... More

Lots of arcade games/rides. A ferris wheel and boardwalk feel. Great restaurants in the area. Ice cream, pizza and upscale restaurants.

It is the centre point of the Fun Zone and advertises itself as the longest ride you will have on a Ferris Wheel. It was fun, with brilliant views, but the Fun Zone will only occupy an hour of your time but it is well worth taking ferry. It really is good old fashioned fun.

The Balboa Fun Zone, adjacent to Newport Beach, has a variety of fun options for the whole family. Our family particularly enjoyed renting an easy-to pilot 18' electric boat to explore the harbor. It was great fun to see the magnificent homes and luxurious yachts from the water. The ride was calm and totally enjoyable. The zone also provides a... More

We went here on a Saturday morning around 1030 for our 11 AM boat tour. We ended up driving around the area for almost and hour to get parking. I'm not sure how it is during the week but I'm assuming most working people will go on the weekends which it is REALLY busy. You can try to find a... More
