Parking is a "bear" on the weekends but not on weekdays where you can find parking for $1.50 for an hour. It is a very "touristy" area, a fun place to walk and see the boats. Our favorite thing was lunch at the Harborside Restaurant where the food was great, great selection, generous servings, and reasonably priced -- right on... More

Just okay at best. Arcade was not that good. However, the staff of the arcade was very helpful and attentive. Kids enjoyed it, but I would have liked to see more arcades instead of just games where you earn a few tickets.

The carrousel, the marine time museum, game arcades, little restaurants, or you can just sit around watching all the sailboats and yachts go by! We spent many afternoons here!

Balboa fun zone has everything for the whole family in one place. You can rent paddle boards, kayak and boats and bikes, eat "sidewalk" food or dine in a restaurant, shop, play arcade games, people watch or even sit down for a cold one. A one stop for the whole day place. Parking can be a little tough but worth... More

A nice old fashioned ferris wheel but that is about it. A couple of arcades are dark and dank. No great restaurants either. But do ride the ferry - it makes the trip to the Fun Zone worthwhile.

We have been going to Balboa Fun Zone for years, it is a small place but good for kids. Has nice shops for souvenirs for friends to take home. Park and walk it is just easier the traffic can be crazy in the summer months.

There are just a few rides and an arcade. For children 10 and under, this will be fun. Over that age will probably be bored pretty quickly. Take the ferry over and walk around a bit. I would not recommend taking your car as the wait to come back over is long by car. On foot, you can hop right... More

The Fun Zone has a Ferris Wheel, Arcade and a few other attractions for small children so it can be very fun for them. It's interesting to walk through for adults and offers a number of food temptations such as frozen bananas, saltwater taffy, pizza and Balboa Bars, which are a 'must' to try if you haven't had one. At this location there are many things to do with families and couples. We went from this location on a Whale Watch and a tour of the spectacular homes located on Newport Peninsula and Balboa Island.

The rides were very small and more for young children. There are some nice shops and a few eateries. We did take a harbor cruise, which was enjoyable. The place was rather disappointing after hearing so much hype about it.
