This is a must see if you are in Napa. The tasting experience is friendly and not intimidating. The wine straight from the barrels can't be beat, and the guide is very informative in explaining the impact of aged woods and toasted planks and the impact these processes have on the final taste. We were able to compare same juice... More

My husband and I spent our anniversary in Napa and Sonoma. Had Del Dotto been one of our first stops, I might have given this experience 5 stars, but it was our last stop. Don't get me wrong, it was good wine and fun to drink wine from the barrels, but I do think there are more unique and individualized... More

The place is over-the-top faux Venetian and is worth a visit just to look inside. We took a tour and sampled a lot of wines out of the barrel. All were very good and some were outstanding. Great staff.

The winery is just gorgeous. It is famous for the cave for preserving the vines in the oak barrels. The plate of cheese and hams was outstanding, but the price for wine tasiting was the most expensive one in Napa. Some of the wines were price more than $150/bottle which is not affordable for me, unfortunately.

Our final wine tasting stop was Del Dotto, affectionately known by local folks as Del Blotto – not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing, I do now know they give heavy tasting pours so totally get it. That said, Del Dotto is a stunning, Italian-inspired house of such grandeur, you feel a little intimidated upon... More

Based upon the recommendation of several friends, we visited Del Dotto on Atlas Peak Roadk for the barrel tasting and cave tours. What a waste of time and money! Perhaps, our bad experience was an isolated event, but based upon our experience, I recommend that serious Napa wine visitors avoid this place, particularly with Napa having so many other tasting... Went to the Napa location of del dotto mainly for the cave experience. We were deciding between Jarvis and this one. The cave atmosphere is perfect- dimly lit and rustic feeling. There are several tours going on at one time though so it can get pretty rowdy. One thing to know is that you are sampling only future wines, which... More

Never again will I visit this tourist trap. You have to pay the exorbitant fee for the cave tour and tasting upfront. So if you buy wine the fee is not waved. Most Napa places wave the fee if you buy. Way to many better options. As for the wine it is ok not great.

We call them Del Blotto for a reason. Lots of wine. Which is frowned upon in Naoa and by the alcohol beverage control. Most people come out pretty high. Which is good for sales and def loosens your pocket book. The tours are pretty good if not annoying scripted. The wine passable. The barrel samples are much better than the... More

This is a totally different tasting experience. You are escorted into the very pretty, dimly lit, sacred caves for the tasting...and actually taste right from the barrel. The wine host "thieves" the wine with this clever glass contraption. I feel like the wine host can make a big difference in your overall experience...and our host was fine...but only fine. Good...
