We went to John F Kennedy Park in Napa. It is a superb park. The park is big at 350 acres. We took a walk along the Napa River on the Napa River Trail. There are nice picnic grounds and playgrounds for the children. The ball fields are quite nice. They are in progress of building a skate park. We... More

My husband thought he was following the trail. All the reviews he'd read said this was a nice "walk in the park." So, I was NOT prepared for steep, narrow, poison oak-lined trails. I had on normal running shoes, so fairly sensible for the kind of walking I expected, but still the trails we ended up on were so steep,... More

When travelling I always look for trails I can run on. If you like running hilly trails, this park is for you. One big mountain, with several trails shooting off in different directions, but since the park is relatively small, they all end up crossing back and forth. I ended up running five miles and had nearly 1200 feet of... More

Feeling guilty after gorging yourself in Napa's many culinary delights? Well, treat yourself to a beautiful hike on one of Westwood's scenic trails. The hike itself was not that long, but it is quite strenuous (be gone apple pancakes!) Not sure what all this cow talk is about -- there wasn't a bovine or patty to be seen when we... More

Westwood Hills is just as the name suggests -- it is up a large hill at the entrance and then levels off a bit -- but there are challenges and hills throughout most of it. The parts that are paths are narrow, so you have to look down most of the time to make sure of your footing.
