When travelling I always look for trails I can run on. If you like running hilly trails, this park is for you. One big mountain, with several trails shooting off in different directions, but since the park is relatively small, they all end up crossing back and forth. I ended up running five miles and had nearly 1200 feet of... More

Feeling guilty after gorging yourself in Napa's many culinary delights? Well, treat yourself to a beautiful hike on one of Westwood's scenic trails. The hike itself was not that long, but it is quite strenuous (be gone apple pancakes!) Not sure what all this cow talk is about -- there wasn't a bovine or patty to be seen when we... More

Westwood Hills is just as the name suggests -- it is up a large hill at the entrance and then levels off a bit -- but there are challenges and hills throughout most of it. The parts that are paths are narrow, so you have to look down most of the time to make sure of your footing.

Great views, lots of cow chips, very dusty with steep hills, but always an alternate way to go. Can see the whole valley, and beautiful wineries surrounded by crimson sugar maples in the distance.

This is obviously a popular spot for Napa residents - there were several individuals and groups even at 10 in the morning. Although dogs are allowed, this is a very clean park (no one cleans up after the cattle, though). The main path leads up (and the operative word is UP) to a nice view of both the city and... More

This is a beautiful and peaceful place to hike, run, or bike - lots of fun trails, tough hills and some great views from the higher points of the park. The eucalyptus smells great and there are so many huge trees. Find the tree swing for some nostalgia.

Westwood Hills Park is on the west side of Napa and has excellent maintained trails that climb up to the top of the hills on the west side of Napa. The trails are well marked and there is usually adequate parking, if full one can park on the street. There is quite a good climb up to the top for... More

Easily accessible, this gorgeous hiking park has numerous trails all leading to stunning vistas. There's something here for everyone from the beginner to experienced hiker. Because of the excellent tree cover, these trails are hike-able even in a little rain.
