Located on 217 acres in the Carneros region of Napa Valley, di Rosa houses the foremost collection of contemporary Bay Area art, with nearly 2,000 works by 800 artists. A wide range of styles, media, and subject matter provide an overview of the creative energy and freedom to experiment that characterize this region of California. The Gatehouse Gallery welcomes drop-in visitors to view di Rosa’s current exhibition, but in order to view the full extent of the collection (including the Main Gallery, Residence, and Sculpture Meadow) a tour is required. These informal, guided tours include time for independent viewing of the artwork. Open Wednesday through Sunday. Advance reservations for tours are highly recommended.

The preserve is a collection of art from northern CA dating from the late 1950s. The Meadow contains some larger pieces. The house (dating from the 1870s) is almost overwhelming. The other spaces have more, well, space. All in all worth several hours while taking a break from wine tasting.

The di Rosa perserve is one of the treasures of the Napa Valley. It is in a beautiful setting and the tour is fantastic. The collection interesting and it makes for a great visit after you get tired of visiting wineries.

The di Rosa Art Preserve is a wonderful gem in the Carneros region - easily accessible from Hwy 121, just outside the City of Napa. I have visited twice and find something new and interesting there each time. The grounds are beautiful, the art collection is whimsical, and the guides are knowledgeable. This is a great place to visit in... More

We were led on our tour by a very knowledgeable docent who answered our questions in detail, and made this art place so interesting, From the swinging angel to the hanging car to lots of yard art, you will not be disappointed. And the building fits into the beautiful landscape very nicely!

Great break from wine tasting to see a great collection in three exhibit buildings and a sculpture meadow. Must make a reservation to see beyond the entry collection. Depending on the time of day the Carneros Highway can be difficult to turn left onto to return to Napa so turn right and go to the stop light in less than... More

I was truly impressed by the quality of the art both inside the facilities and in the meadows surrounding it. We had a great docent. We took a 1.5 hour tour and I could have spent a ton more time there. I am not even a particularly artsy type but I really enjoyed this (as did my wife).

Tucked away behind a berm off Highway 29 is one of the most eclectic, broad-ranging and interesting modern art collections north of the Golden Gate bridge. With a 30+ acre sculpture garden and multiple exhibition buildings, the diRosa Collection has a wondrous array of modern art. The tour of the property is a fun diversion from wine tasting and the... A very good place to see a sample of Californian artists, diverse forms and media, as well as the place where the founder of the gallery lived for a long time - with family furniture and memorabilia. Tours only - and start only several times of the day. Check the schedule before you go.

As a Napa resident, I'm always surprised by the number of wine country visitors who have not heard of the di Rosa art preserve in Carneros. We take all our guests to the di Rosa not only to view the extensive art collection but to see the magnificent grounds - hundreds of acres - that are as fascinating as the... More
