A wide range of styles, media, and subject matter provide an overview of the creative energy and freedom to experiment that characterize this region of California. The Gatehouse Gallery welcomes drop-in visitors to view di Rosa’s current exhibition, but in order to view the full extent of the collection (including the Main Gallery, Residence, and Sculpture Meadow) a tour is required. These informal, guided tours include time for independent viewing of the artwork. Open Wednesday through Sunday. Advance reservations for tours are highly recommended. « less

Wow what a great wine country find - especially the tour of the house with all the art work left as if the owners left yesterday. Great curators who made the tour a lot of fun. Totally unexpected adventure and if anyone is interested in art and the art of the bay area excellent in every way. Highly recommend it.

A terrific collection of California artists and art that makes you smile, laugh, think, and participate in the experience. The setting is spectacular; make time to walk in the gardens where there are wonderful surprises.

Modern art from northern California, particularly the Bay Area, is the province of di Rosa. Such restricted geographic, cultural, and temporal scope limits the collection's appeal, even among art aficionados.

If you like modern art and sculpture, this is the place to be. Make reservations for the tour. $12 for adults, $9. for seniors. You hop onto a passenger trailer and the bring you up the hill to the main house. All of the art his from California artists. Many of the pieces had to be drug induced. The combination... More

I was not expecting this place to be as nice as I was led to believe. It turned out to be even nicer than what I was told. It was an interesting and eclectic collection of art, memorabilia of the owners of the property, the indoor and outdoor displays and the unique nature of many of the pieces shown. This... More

I have not been there yet but am going next week Sept. 2014... Some people have commented on their being an artificial lake, that means it would be a "fake lake"??? There is a real lake on the property but it may be man made so that does not make it "fake", that makes it a man made lake.... Can... More

di Rosa Art and Nature Preserve The 20th century’s last three decades were as productive for northern California artists as they were for the region’s vintners.  One man who participated in both realms was Rene di Rosa, vineyard owner, art collector, and as was his late wife, an artist….di Rosa was a zany guy who loved humor and this museum shows that!  When... We thought we would spend our Sunday afternoon here - so did several others. We arrived only to learn that there were two tour groups that had booked the guided tours therefore there was no room for anyway just walking in. I didn't review the website well enough to see that there is a limited amount of the museum that... More

We were trying to find something different in the valley on a recent long weekend so we searched on "art in napa" and found out about the Di Rosa Art space off the Sonoma Highway. What an amazingly interesting space for contemporary art fans. In addition to the acres of art outdoors, there are three indoor spaces, including the home... More
