A wide range of styles, media, and subject matter provide an overview of the creative energy and freedom to experiment that characterize this region of California. The Gatehouse Gallery welcomes drop-in visitors to view di Rosa’s current exhibition, but in order to view the full extent of the collection (including the Main Gallery, Residence, and Sculpture Meadow) a tour is required. These informal, guided tours include time for independent viewing of the artwork. Open Wednesday through Sunday. Advance reservations for tours are highly recommended. « less

We were trying to find something different in the valley on a recent long weekend so we searched on "art in napa" and found out about the Di Rosa Art space off the Sonoma Highway. What an amazingly interesting space for contemporary art fans. In addition to the acres of art outdoors, there are three indoor spaces, including the home... More

I'm not a huge fan of contemporary art. It seems like everything has to have its jarring elements. The collection is interesting, and this is in a lovely location. The docents were very pleasant.

This is an unusual museum. The artwork is very different and everyone will find something there, that will catch their eye. It is located in the middle of vineyards. There are interactive displays. I recommend that you take the extended tour, so you can see all the artwork on display all over the grounds, as well as see the home,... More

Dropped in a recommendation. Really interesting place and good value for money. On the day we visited the art was not all to our preference but that' s art for you!

The di Rosa Preserve is a very special place. It represents an amazing quest by Rene and Veronica di Rosa to gather together a collection of artwork specific to the San Francisco Bay Area. It also represents the conviction on their parts that this collection should be made available to the general public. Displayed as it is in several galleries... More

this is a wonderful site with a strong California artist collection. The docents are knowledgable but let you explore on your own. The art collector was eccentric and passionate and the museum retains his integrity.

Fascinating unique art and I believe most of it is from Northern California artists. The gardens were also memorable.

I've never been to a museum which so beautifully integrates art with nature. We took the 1 and 1/2 hour tour and I wished we could have stayed longer. The works are mind blowing. Visiting this museum was definitely a highlight of our stay in Napa Valley!

The entrance to Rosa is beautiful with blooming flowers, a beautiful artificial lake and nice abstract art pieces. It actually raised my expectations from the museum. On entry,I was greeted by the staff which actually was only interested in asking for donations. It really pissed me off..I decided to take a look at the gallery first before taking the full... More

It is most difficult to categorize the visit. Envision a visit to an exotic aunt who is an art collector - and you might have an idea as to what to expect. The art is interesting and a bit strange, the grounds are interesting, the house is an experience. It is a wonderful blend of nature, sculpture and oil painting.
