I don't get the negative reviews on here. We enjoyed the drive up the main road, the view, the owner's dog greeting us and the entire experience. The grounds are lovely. The dining room in which we did the tasting was formal yet not stuffy. Cheryl gave a lovely presentation of the wines, which everyone seemed to enjoy. Even Mr....

We've been to Shafer a few times before and always enjoyed the visit and the wines. This recent visit was disappointing. There were four of us and we tasted about six wines each. Afterwards, we compared notes. Except for a port, none of the wines were what we expected from Shafer. However, all the wines were recent releases. Maybe they...

OMG, we have been trying to get into Shafer for YEARS. We are in Napa 2-3 times a year and they are always booked months in advance. - Very nice people, very pretty spot, good wine - one of our favorites in fact.
