We loved our visit to Shafer. Besides tasting all 5 of their world class wines, we were lucky to meet owner John Shafer and winemaker Elias Fernandez.

Thank you Andrea for the wonderful wine tasting experience. We appreciated the history of the winery and the delicious pours of some of the best wine in the world. By limiting the number of visitors, you will enjoy a very personal wine tasting experience. Excellence all around.

We have visited Shafer in Napa twice - once in the old facility & once in the new. Now elegant & educational, and being lucky enough to drink both wonderful whites & reds. Tops wines in the world

Many thanks to Andrea for making our tasting experience so wonderful. She is exceptionally well versed in the history of Shafer and the products that are currently offered. We appreciated learning the history of the Shafer family and their success in creating great wines on some rugged terrain. The limited seating provides for a reasonably "intimate" experience conducive to discussion,... More

Beautiful vineyard! I love that it's appt only so it was quiet. Our guide knew his wine which was a nice change from people hired to pour wine we had experienced at so many wineries the day before. It was a low key tasting not rushed. The one was one of the best we tasted this trip. I highly recommend!

Love the tasting room here, private experience that lets you enjoy the wine - must make an appointment.

The location is beautiful and picturesque , the wine tasting room and setup is quite lovely, the Shafer family and staff are very friendly and, best of all, the wines are great. I loved 4 out of the 5 wines we tried and ended up buying quite a few cases. And, for non port fans, try the port here.

Great Winery. The tasting tour isn't cheap, unless you are lucky enough to be on the Hillside Select mailing list. The winery is beautiful, top 10 in California for sure, and the wines are even better than the winery. Bring your wallet, as you will want to load up on wine after a visit here!

This is a beautiful place located on a mountainside in the Stags Leap district of Napa. Our tasting room was open, airy, and contemporary, with beautiful views of the valley. The wines were fabulous. We'd had Relentless and thought there wasn't much that could top it ... until we had the Hillside Select. It will spoil you! The presentation was... More

I did not know anything about the Shafers but booked the tasting to try the Hillside Select and Relentless. Since I live on the east coast, it is more important for me that I actually like the wines versus the winemaker and tasting experience. First I noticed the attention to detail, which is appealing to us analytical types. Then the... More
