Chimney Rock Vineyards Has Cape Dutch—South African Architecture and great cabs influenced by volcanic soil. We have been to South Africa on numerous occasions, enjoyed the area, and loved the pure white, Dutch-style buildings of that region.  South Africa also has a fabulous wine-growing climate and is an area that is establishing itself as a well-respected wine region….so we wondered if South African... We stopped here with friends who have been wine club members for over a decade, so I can't comment on the standard experience. However, going with club members was a great experience. They've built a new member section out the back, which is just lovely. They were tasting 5-6 wines that day, with some library selections available for purchase at... More

We spent a lot for a barrel tasting because we know and like Chimney Rock wines, and know enough to want to know more. (We like big Napa cabs.) The barrel tasting was good -- young in the barrel so we could really taste how they would need to develop over time. The wine and cheese tasting afterward was delicious.... More

The building and grounds are beautiful. They have a lovely courtyard and we were able to visit their old barrel room as well, which was neat. The wines just weren't my kind of thing, which was unfortunate since I had better tastings elsewhere for less - but again, that is all personal. I felt the staff were a little aggressive... More

If you like Napa Cabernets then this is your place. NOT a white wine drinkers winery. The tasting experience is very relaxing with very pretty surroundings. MOST Bottles range just above or below a hundred, but that gets you some of the best cabernets Napa has to offer. Sure you could drop 3 bills at Opus or sell one of... More

We just participated in a wine tasting, but had a great experience! Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. He took us through the history of the winery and label, while giving us extensive detailed information on the wine making procedures. One of the few places that will apply your wine tasting cost to the wines you purchase.

Expert staff - salaried - not on commission - just happy to teach. This was our first stop on our first trip to Napa. We walked in at 2pm on a Wednesday and had the place to ourselves. Matt was our tasting room wine advisor and he was happy to show us what HE would do if he were walking... More

We sat outside and enjoyed the afternoon. They labled the glasses so as we shared we could keep track of the wines. We didn't feel pressured to buy and the person pouring our wine was very helpful. We bought three diffents selections for tasting and some overlapped so they gave us others so we did duplicate any. A plate of... More

The wine really does taste good. However, be aware that you will be paying up to twenty or thirty percent more than a retailer like Total Wine. We tasted there last Saturday. It was crowded and they do charge up to $35 for their reserve tasting for four or five wines, not cheap. On our way out, we overheard one... More
