We wanted to have a relaxing last day for our holiday before our evening flight back to London so decided to take the Lunch Wine Train in the special Champagne Vista Dome carriage. I booked directly over the phone with a reservation agent who was very helpful and courteous. The trip was perfect - organisation great, all staff were superb,... More

We take the train every year at christmas time. The kids love it. Santa and all his friends are on the train too. Hot chocolate for the kids and wine for the adults. Very fun family time.

It was my friends 50th birthday and we had a part of 16. We chose late lunch dining. The appetizers were so good! Everyone loved it. Cathy, our server, was great! She was very nice and knowledgeable about the wines. Excellent customer service. We loved her. Everyone commented that they loved this party more than the hornblower/lunch cruise as we... More

The meal on the train was very good, the ride itself was a little boring. We took the Castle tour and that was the best part of our stay in Napa. Tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area, the Castle itself and the wines.

Spent a wonderful day and a lovely treat for my birthday. The gourmet lunch on the wine train was excellent and the customer service was superb. Our waitress looking after us was called Amber and she was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. I hope she receives our praise. This lunch on this beautiful old train was so worth... More

We decided to have a family Christmas vacation in Northern California since my son and daughter-in-law had moved to the Bay area. I was looking for something special to do. I thought we would give the Wine Train a try. My entire family could not be happier. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff, the scenery, the food and the... More

My book club (yes book club) thought this would be perfect for celebrating a bday and we had just read "The Girl on the Train". We are all local and had not been on anything but the Santa Train! EVERYONE that works there was cheerful, helpful and made the experience even more enjoyable. The food was excellent. The menu had... More

We who enjoyed the 3-hour Lunch Express. Cordial staff, beautifully renovated rail cars. The seats in the lounge car and dining car were assigned so we didn't feel like we had to scramble to find seats. I don't know how they could prepare such delicious food with the train rocking and rumbling like it was, but they did.

Don't worry about this being too touristy, folks. It's absolutely charming! We live in the Bay Area and have been to wine country many times through the years. We took the opportunity to do the afternoon (rather than dinner) Wine Train tour when friends visited from Santa Barbara. We booked a hotel nearby for the night and were on our... More
