The train is lovely and the food really is outstanding. We did the Grgich Winery + Lunch trip. Our service on the way out was great. The winery tour was interesting; it was nice to see a bit behind the scenes at a winery. The train was late picking us up from the winery and it was over 100 degrees... More

When in Napa it is a must to take the wine train. Beautiful vintage rail cars with excellent service. We had lunch which was very nice, just wish it was a little more upscale. We did the first lunch seating with wine tasting after as we were on our way to Chandon Winery. Most definitely would do again! This was... More

We enjoyed the Champagne Vista Dome Lunch on the Napa Valley Wine Train. The station is large, clean, has 2 shops, a cafe and restrooms. The staff at the station were very friendly and welcoming. We had purchased several bottles of wine at a winery and did not want them sitting it our hot car for 3+ hours. The staff... More

What a fun train to ride!!! It's vintage trian that had been refubished and look beautiful. It is a bit pricey but classy and top notch service and well worth it. It's a breath taking view all the way. One thing though wish they served more wine after all we are in the Wine county. Beautiful presatation and comfortable seating.... More

It was very romantic to sit in well maintained vintage Pullman carriages. It was about 20km slow train ride from our hotel to St Helena in north Napa. The views of vineyards was wonderful and we were served wines and cheese on our onward run and a full gourmet dinner on our return.

I went on the wine train today. Here's my learnings-- 1) Find out which lunch sitting you are booked in for. There are 2 sittings, one eats straight away from 11:30-13:00 and the other 13:00-14:30. So find out and make sure you have the right amount of breakfast that morning. 2) the food is great - very tasty 3) the... More

We went on the wine train in Napa during a recent visit. We booked the high end dome car and it was fun. Food and service were great! The vintage cars were awesome. Pricey for sure but a really unusual evening and a lot of fun. Very romantic. Very informative. Our waiter was full of info on the vineyards and... More

About 6 months ago, we decided to celebrate my moms 80th birthday aboard the wine train. We had people coming from as far away as Philadelphia, and with 23 of us, it would have been difficult to get everyone together at a restaurant and have the ability to get up and mingle. From the time we made the reservation, and... More

My husband and I rode the wine train today as part of our vacation in Napa. It was OK... Not great, not terrible but just OK. We both agreed that this is something you should do just once really for the sake of saying you did it. Definitely a tourist trap. They take your picture before you board the train... More
