I have lived in this county all my life. As kids we always wanted to go to the Drive Thru Tree but my dad would never take us and said it was a waste of money... Well dad was right! My son and I were just out and about enjoying a sunny day. We had been in the area doing... More

You've got to hand it to the people who own this tree- they charged us $6.00 (self serve) to drive through the tree, when we got down there, we did not have a hope of fitting through, but what the heck, it was worth the laugh! More

So, there are a few drive-through trees around here and this is probably the worst. It's held up by cables since it's utterly dead and they charge per car to drive through it. I wouldn't waste your time or money especially since you can stop at the tour-through tree or the chandelier tree which are at least alive. More

If you happen to be in the area go and drive through a dead tree just to say that you have done it. More

Our family tries to be environmentally friendly, and going to this place seemed "wrong" to us, driving through a tree that had been harmed..... but I'm embarassed to say we did it anyway. We paid the $7 for admittance to the auto park and got in line to go through the tree. A little car went thru before us, no... More

There are maybe 3 or 4 redwood drive thru trees in CA, and we just happened by this one, so decided to give this one a try. $4 is not too bad for the experience of doing so. We had a mid size car and it fit just fine, no worries on our part. Plenty of time to take pictures,... More

The main attraction itself, the tree, is in rather poor condition compared to the Klamath tree (I didn't do the chandelier tree), but at least the little "park" area offers a few other things. The tree opening is somewhat smaller than at Klamath - 7' x 7' per my photo - but still plenty of room for my Mini! The... More

I remembered reading about this place when I was young and as we were in the area we decided to pay it a visit. We paid our 4 dollars, drove to the back of the giftshop and there it was. A huge tree with a hole in it. We drove through it (We did think we were not going to... More

My husband and I drove from Los Angeles to Washington State and decided to take the more scenic route. We detoured off the 101 to the Avenue of the Giants to see all the beautiful Redwoods up-close. We stopped by Shrine’s Drive-Thru Tree knowing that it was a tourist trap. We paid $4 (for the our car) to get into... More
