Ironstone Vineyards is a family-owned and operated winery that places as much emphasis on the natural beauty and history of our surroundings as we do on the quality of our wines. Located in Murphys, in the heart of the Sierra Foothills in California's scenic Gold Rush Country, Ironstone is a state-of-the-art wine production facility. The winery was built in the style of a 19th century gold stamp mill and has antiques and gold mining artifacts on display throughout the facility. Ironstone offers a Tasting Room and Music Room, where you can find the fully restored Alhambra Theatre Pipe Organ. The facility also boasts Meeting and Banquet Facilities, an Outdoor Amphitheatre, Wine Aging Caverns and a Culinary Demonstration Kitchen. With fourteen acres of Spectacular Lakeside Gardens, you can choose your perfect Wedding Venue. Ironstone's Heritage Museum is home to a 44 pound Crystalline Gold Leaf specimen, the largest in the world. The Heritage Jewelry Shoppe, located inside the Heritage Museum, offers visitors a unique opportunity to take home a piece of California's colorful history.

Very nice place to visit. We had time to have lunch there before the wine tour and the guide was very knowledgeable. Must visit the museum and the jewelry store.

Ironstone has beautiful facilities and hundreds of bulb type plants on the property. There is an excellent '49'er era museum and a huge gold nugget. There is also a tasting room with wines that are reasonably priced.

Ironstone is truly a gem in Gold Country. The grounds are spectacular and the concert series is outstanding. Be sure and take a guided tour and learn all about the families story and the innovation behind their winemaking and the history of the area. The Ironstone Vineyards offered free parking with a shuttle to Murphy's for the annual Irish Days Fair on March 21 this year. We had never been here before and were totally amazed at the place! A beautiful restaurant, tasting room, museum/jewelry store, display of a real 41 pound gold nugget - REALLY! The grounds are absolutely beautiful and remind me... More

Worth the drive! The grounds were beautiful. The tour informative. The wine so great quality. Be sure to visit their museum /jewelry store. They have a great collection from California's gold rush history.

Ironstone sure has all the bases covered re having something for everyone. This is the only winery I think that is open daily on a regular basis all year ( many of the Murphys area wineries are open for tastings only on the weekends, or for limited hours, or close for no apparent rhyme or reason outside of the peak... I attend the Concours de Elegance here every September. This is how we first started going to Murphys. The grounds at the winery are amazing. The Kautz Family has done it right! The wines are pretty good as well!

We did wine tastings at many of the tasting rooms in Murphys, CA, which we thoroughly enjoyed. But as far as touring a winery, this is the one to do. Tours are at 1:30 each day - at least they were in February. We learned a little about the family, strolled the beautiful arbor, and viewed historic gold mining equipment.... More
