Description: Ironstone Vineyards is a family-owned and operated winery that places as...
Ironstone Vineyards is a family-owned and operated winery that places as much emphasis on the natural beauty and history of our surroundings as we do on the quality of our wines. Located in Murphys, in the heart of the Sierra Foothills in California's scenic Gold Rush Country, Ironstone is a state-of-the-art wine production facility. The winery was built in the style of a 19th century gold stamp mill and has antiques and gold mining artifacts on display throughout the facility. Ironstone offers a Tasting Room and Music Room, where you can find the fully restored Alhambra Theatre Pipe Organ. The facility also boasts Meeting and Banquet Facilities, an Outdoor Amphitheatre, Wine Aging Caverns and a Culinary Demonstration Kitchen. With fourteen acres of Spectacular Lakeside Gardens, you can choose your perfect Wedding Venue. Ironstone's Heritage Museum is home to a 44 pound Crystalline Gold Leaf specimen, the largest in the world. The Heritage Jewelry Shoppe, located inside the Heritage Museum, offers visitors a unique opportunity to take home a piece of California's colorful history.

Each and every time I come to stay in Murphys, a visit to Ironstone is a must. The grounds a lovely and bucolic. Strolling about to see the flowers and experience the vines is such a treat. I also go to the gift shop to indulge in another Obsession poster. The artwork is so unique and well done.

Loves the wine, the cellars, and the grounds. The big plus is it was close to The Affirmation Cottage where we stayed thanks to Visit. Murphys.

This was a romantic day. We loved the grounds around the vineyards. It was just a shot drive from the Affirmation Cottage where we stayed. http://www.vrbo.com/700052

Stopped by to see the museum which was inter sting but a bit of a mess. Wanted to see the 44 lb piece of gold. It was pretty amazing . we then dropped into the tasting room where we found some good reasonably priced wines. The Cabernet Franc and Petite Sarah were both particularly good. We went home with a... Very nice place to visit. We had time to have lunch there before the wine tour and the guide was very knowledgeable. Must visit the museum and the jewelry store.

Ironstone has beautiful facilities and hundreds of bulb type plants on the property. There is an excellent '49'er era museum and a huge gold nugget. There is also a tasting room with wines that are reasonably priced.

The Ironstone Vineyards offered free parking with a shuttle to Murphy's for the annual Irish Days Fair on March 21 this year. We had never been here before and were totally amazed at the place! A beautiful restaurant, tasting room, museum/jewelry store, display of a real 41 pound gold nugget - REALLY! The grounds are absolutely beautiful and remind me... More
