Went to Ironstone Ampitheater Aug 15 to see the Jeff Beck/ZZ Top concert. This was a great venue, plenty of parking, clean, fine views, laid out nicely. The show put on by Jeff Beck and ZZ Top was worth every penny. One drawback for Ironstone though,..all of the parking lot area is dirt!? What a mess. How about investing in... More

When I first drove up to Ironstone, I was disappointed, thinking that the winery was too big, and I was looking for handcrafted wines. However, Ironstone is a place of many faces. We grabbed a bottle of their Old Vine Zinfandel and a deli sandwich, then sat outside and enjoyed the afternoon. Then, on to the tasting. While Ironstone produces... More

Over 25 caretakers keep the grounds of this must see winery. Three stories, complete with museum, botanical gardens, waterfalls, water wheel, museum, deli, tasting room, Pipe Organ Room, caves, lake, and too much more to list. We toured on our own, but hope to return for an event and guided tour some day. There as so many surrounding attractions to... More

I was here with a tour group. We had a very knowledgeable guide and some great food and wine. We started with some excellent appetizers paired with a variety of excellent wines. Then, we had a delicious lunch. There was a lot of artwork and also antiques to enjoy. The crystalline gold specimen was fantastic.

There are very few wineries in all of California to match the setting, the beauty, and the expansive variety of attractions as at Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys. During a recent visit, the hillsides were bursting with color from literally hundreds of thousands of daffodils greeting the arrival of spring in the Mother Lode. Along with the beautiful flowers, a stroll... More

The grounds of this private family-owned winery include a cattle farm, vineyards, winery, wine caverns, expansive landscaped grounds, lakeside park, outdoor amphitheater, visitors' center, gift shop, tasting room, cafe, culinary center, and history museum. Who knew this place existed? I sure didn't. Wow. It's like a lavish French garden, but created for the 1850s. The gold rush spirit is alive and well at the Ironstone Museum with various trinkets and artifacts from the original California hey dey. But, the focal point — the grand finale — is the giant Kautz Crystalline Gold Specimen, the... More
