On a recent trip to Silicon Valley with my husband (he was working, I wasn't) I found Shoreline park - a beautiful nature preserve in the midst of the tech world. There's a quaint lake where you can dine at a lakeside cafe (with wine!) or rent a paddle board or kayak to get out on the water. There are... More

This Park has so much to offer that it'll take me a few reviews to cover it all. This time I went hiking, was heavenly, a few hours around the park and I didn't visit it all! There are (amongst many other things) sail and paddle boats for hire that I intend to try one of these weekends and a... More

Shoreline has been a piece of heaven for me all of the years I have lived in Silicon Valley. I have enjoyed walking or biking the various trails as well as sitting on one of the many benches that look out over the lake. Recently, I was fortunate to witness a pod of at least 60 pelicans floating on the... More

We had lunch in the cafe here on a beautiful day. Lots of bird watching and people watching! If we hadn't had other places to go I would have been content to sit all day long, just watching the lake. Good food!

This delightful location has a small lake with sail boats and windsurfers available for hire, a separate kite flying area, golf course and a small cafe / restaurant. It also has walks alongside San Francisco Bay and the creeks running off that. The wildlife is less skittish than equivalents in the UK with ground squirrels, jack rabbits (that are skittish)... We had been there twice in the recent past and both the times, I enjoyed it. Once I dropped my daughter with her friends for a boating ride. They liked it but could not stay on the boat for long because it was a pretty hot day. But then they walked around the park and totally enjoyed the greens and... More

The landscaping is maturing. The lake is full sometimes of people learning water sports. The birds are everywhere especially geese. great place to exercise, relax, picnic with the family and smell the not so nice bay. I rode miles on the dirt trails around there then sat on my own and had an ice cold glass of beer at the... More

It is always nice to sit outside! The glass protects even on chilly and windy days. It's a limited menu, but we can always find something we want. And they have extended their weekend brunch hours! You order inside & are given a number, so that your food is delivered to your table. Very pleasant staff!
