From the beach side (opposite the damn) you can hike around the lake and see Mt Shasta rising in the distance. Swimming, kayaking, fishing all available. The beach is great for families w/kids. I've never seen such unusual and fun giant blow up water toys for the kids...although we saw the adults out there on the equipment too... Nice souvenir... More

We stayed in nearby Dunsmuir at the Railroad Resort Park. They recommended Lake Siskiyou for a nice relaxing day on the lake. We took our kayaks up on a Friday and wow - what a place! The lake was full and beautiful! Warm and clear water. Only a dollar per person entry for day use and free launch - can't... More

We rented paddle boards and had a leisurely paddle around the lagoon--the view of Shasta from the lake is fantastic. And there are fun floats, and a floating playground for kids, as well as paddle boats and kayaks. Really enjoyed it.

We were there for 4th of July. The lake was nice and water was not cold. We did canoeing and swimming. We really enjoyed the waters. There are a lot of activities at the shore and a lot of activities for the kids too. You can see Mount Shasta from the lake shore. It was a romantic evening to sit... More

The big, important difference between a lake and a reservoir is that a reservoir is a valley that's flooded by a dam. Usually reservoirs aren't as pretty to me - but this one with a nice trail around it, is pretty nice.

All of the big trees have been cut down and removed only for profits by Shasta County and now there are little shade trees and no privacy bushes between camping sites which means everyone can see what everybody is doing all day long, no privacy.

I love to swim in Lake Siskiyou. The water is sublime, clear and refreshing.Weekdays in the summer are best. You can see Mount Shasta from the shore as well as when you are swimming.

Lake Siskiyou is a really nice and clean place to swim. The lake is calm, free of jet skis and motor boats. The Resort charges $1/person for day use. They have kayaks, SUP boards, canoes and paddle boats for rental. And a floating water park. You can bring a pop-up or umbrella (necessary if you have small kids and need... More

We rented a house on lake Siskiyou when we recently visited the Mount Shasta area for my wedding in April, and we loved it!! There are several trails along the lake and also one trail that you can take all the way around the lake!
