The big, important difference between a lake and a reservoir is that a reservoir is a valley that's flooded by a dam. Usually reservoirs aren't as pretty to me - but this one with a nice trail around it, is pretty nice.

All of the big trees have been cut down and removed only for profits by Shasta County and now there are little shade trees and no privacy bushes between camping sites which means everyone can see what everybody is doing all day long, no privacy.

Lake Siskiyou is a really nice and clean place to swim. The lake is calm, free of jet skis and motor boats. The Resort charges $1/person for day use. They have kayaks, SUP boards, canoes and paddle boats for rental. And a floating water park. You can bring a pop-up or umbrella (necessary if you have small kids and need... More

We rented a house on lake Siskiyou when we recently visited the Mount Shasta area for my wedding in April, and we loved it!! There are several trails along the lake and also one trail that you can take all the way around the lake!

We stayed at the Mt Shasta Resort. Our chalet was on Lake Siskiyou, a small, beautiful lake. There is a path you can take for an easy walk around the lake. We drove to parking area. Dogs are allowed on a leash. The view of Mt Shasta is beautiful as you walk around the lake. I believe there is fishing... More

Lake Siskiyou is a reservoir, so it's not one of these pristine mountain lakes full of snow melt. Depending on its level, which can vary a great deal, it can be decent or actually stinky and mucky. It's always a beautiful place for a walk, though.

Lake Siskiyou is a gorgeous, quiet spot near Mt Shasta, CA. Boat rentals, wild trout fishing, hiking and scenic beauty. There are not too many places on the planet that compare! Many natural lakes with easy access nearby. One of the greatest golf courses in the north state within walking distance! A place you don't want to miss out on!

This is a great lake to fish for trout. Heavily stocked you can park usually super close to shore. Its also a great place to take easy hikes to go for a swim or just sit back around sunset and watch bald eagles catch fish. I love this spot
