Owner description: High Spirits is the only 60 ft Whale Watching boat with an upper deck for a birds-eye view of the whales and other wildlife encountered on the Monterey Bay.Compare the most of the Whale Watching boats in the area High Spirits is designed as a luxury offshore yacht rather than a fishing vessel therefore offers plenty of indoor space to refuge on those chilly days on the Monterey Bay. You don't have to leave the civilized world behind just because you're on a tour boat. Many things you enjoy on land disappears when you go on a tour with some other boats. But not with us, from 110 AC for charging your camera battery to hot water for washing your hands we offer all the amenities of a comfortable cruise on our vessel. Our flooring is carpeted and our large boarding ladder makes it easy to get on/off to our vessel for everyone. A full galley to cater any special events, an educational and entertaining kids corner, 3 guest cabins for overnight trips and 3 bathrooms are just a few other extras only offered by Blue Ocean Whale Watch. Our Whale Watching trips are fully narrated and 100% of our trips are run by owners. With 49 guest capacity we are not the largest nor the smallest boat on the bay, but we are the only luxury vessel offering Whale Watching tours with a WOW effect. Dignified Burials at Sea (Ash Scattering) ceremonies to fun Birthday parties or for any Special Event we are the experts to turn your daily outing into an unforgettable memory.Come join us and experience our difference.

Kate and all of the great crew make this trip wonderful. We went on three trips in one week and each was different and a lot of fun. Even though it's called Blue Ocean Whale Watch it truly is so much more. I can't wait to see how they grow. I plan on going back anytime I'm in the area.

We live on the east coast and own a boat. We see dolphins on a regular basis and an occasional whale in the Atlantic. So going on a Whale and Dolphin Watch was sure to be nice while we were by the Pacific. Holy Mammals were we surprised how AMAZING this trip was. It was less than 15 minutes out... More

After much review I chose this for our Whale Watching. The people who run it are concerned for everyone and actually take care of you. Come around while the tour is going on checking to see if you are ok or need anything. They really love the job. We saw about 50 whales and about 200 dolphin and also seals... More

As my husband said, on a scale of 1 to 10, a TWENTY! We were constantly seeing whales breathing, fin slapping, diving and breaching. The captain did an excellent job of maneuvering the boat so both sides could see all the action. The naturalist was very informative about what we were seeing, and made sure we were all safe, because... More

Can't say enough positive words about the Captain and naturalist on this two-hour tour. First, great care was taken to provide those prone to motion sickness with preventatives, including sea bands for rent -and they work. We saw so many whales -often up to five in a pod, with a couple of pods in view simultaneously. The naturalist was knowledgable... More

I have taken a couple of different Whale watching trips, but none have been as Great as this one. It helped to have a Great day but the boat and all the crew were outstanding. Very informative information narrative and a Great Price. The boat is well setup and even has inside seating if you want it. Great for us... More

We went whale watching last weekend to see the humpbacks that have been prolific in Monterey Bay for the past month or so. We were not disappointed! We started seeing the whales (in addition to sea lions and many birds) almost as soon as we left the harbor. The captain, Jim, and guide (Lauren?) were very friendly and knowledgeable. I... More

The two hour tour was more than enough time to see the whales and dolphins for this season. We saw four Killer whales and somewhere between 8-12 Humpback whales. What I like about this company was that they didn't pack their boats with people. While we were out there I saw other whale watching boats that looked like they were... More

$37.00 for a 2 hr tour! Whale spotting guaranteed. Don't waste hours motoring from Monterey or Santa Cruz....the whales are feeding off of Moss Landing. Yes, this is an exceptional year...lots of anchovies in Monterey Bay. And, yes it can be a seasonal thing...so check before you go. And yes, each day is different. On 7/26, 7:30 am, my friends... The boat was comfortable. We learned a lot from the naturalist who was onboard. We saw dozens of whales and hundreds of sea lions. The boat was comfortable with a new quiet engine.
