High Spirits is the only 60 ft Whale Watching boat with an upper deck...

High Spirits is the only 60 ft Whale Watching boat with an upper deck for a birds-eye view of the whales and other wildlife encountered on the Monterey Bay.Compare the most of the Whale Watching boats in the area High Spirits is designed as a luxury offshore yacht rather than a fishing vessel therefore offers plenty of indoor space to refuge on those chilly days on the Monterey Bay. You don't have to leave the civilized world behind just because you're on a tour boat. Many things you enjoy on land disappears when you go on a tour with some other boats. But not with us, from 110 AC for charging your camera battery to hot water for washing your hands we offer all the amenities of a comfortable cruise on our vessel. Our flooring is carpeted and our large boarding ladder makes it easy to get on/off to our vessel for everyone. A full galley to cater any special events, an educational and entertaining kids corner, 3 guest cabins for overnight trips and 3 bathrooms are just a few other extras only offered by Blue Ocean Whale Watch. Our Whale Watching trips are fully narrated and 100% of our trips are run by owners. With 49 guest capacity we are not the largest nor the smallest boat on the bay, but we are the only luxury vessel offering Whale Watching tours with a WOW effect. Dignified Burials at Sea (Ash Scattering) ceremonies to fun Birthday parties or for any Special Event we are the experts to turn your daily outing into an unforgettable memory.Come join us and experience our difference.

This was a great company to go whale watching with! It was a small group which I appreciated because there was enough room for everyone on the rails to get great views and it wasn't crowded. I have been whale watching in other places where I felt crowded out on the rail or was having to look over shoulders from... More

If you have not yet seen a beautiful display going on in Monterey Bay, You need to do it. My suggestion is Blue Ocean Whale Watching out of Moss Landing. Jim and Kate, co-captains and owners, and their Great Crew really take care of their passengers. It is always a thrill to see the Whale and Dolphin activity right in... More

try to take the early morning cruise when the whales are most likely to be feeding heavily. We must have seen at least 60+ whales lunge feeding. Seeing anchovies become airborne before the whales lunge is really a sight and the swarms of hundreds and hundreds of birds flying above the water trying to eat but avoid being swallowed by... More

What a great time My husband and I are from Texas and didnt know what to expect. BUT we were so pleased with Blue Ocean, Kate and the Captain. The boat was very clean and safe. Kate was very knowledgeable about the marine life and the area in general. We were able to go to the top of the boat... More

We went out on a 3 hour whale & dolphin watch on Monterey Bay and had an absolutely perfect adventure. The fact that the weather was ideal and the seas full of marine mammals can't be credited to Blue Ocean, of course, but the rest of the excursion can. They use a modern, comfortable but small boat that holds less... More

Whales & Dolphins Galore!! Have gone whale watching with this group a number of times and never a disappointment. Kate the naturalist on board obviously loves her job! What is there not to love? Going out on the Monterey Bay with all the wildlife there is to observe in their natural habitat. This trip had it all: breaching, tail lobbing,... More

We booked a private charter with Blue Ocean for a burial at sea. There are not enough words available in my vocabulary to express our appreciation to Kate and team for an amazing experience! We are especially thankful for their compassion - even in our email correspondence - and respect as we said goodbye to my brother. And the whales,... More

We did the 7:30 am trip. There was some fog at the beginning but burned off quickly and didn't hamper our experience. We were viewing whales within about 10 minutes of leaving the dock. The naturalist is very enthusiastic and informative. We staying on the bow of the boat the whole time and had no trouble seeing whales as they... More

Over the years, I have been on whale watch tours in Hawaii, Southern California, Cabo, and Depot Bay, Oregon BUT none can compare to what we just experienced with Blue Ocean Whale Watch. The boat was uncrowded and comfortable. The crew friendly and knowledgable. My 25 year old daughter and my 10 year old son were as blown away as... More

The humpback whales are spectacular this season in Monterey Bay! Warmer waters and abundant food supply make this a fantastic opportunity to see these magnificent creatures. Jim and Kate are terrific hosts and know just where to go. We saw whales in every direction we looked and we were hardly a mile off Moss Landing. An adventure not to be... More
