High Spirits is the only 60 ft Whale Watching boat with an upper deck for a birds-eye view of the whales and other wildlife encountered on the Monterey Bay.Compare the most of the Whale Watching boats in the area High Spirits is designed as a luxury offshore yacht rather than a fishing vessel therefore offers plenty of indoor space to refuge on those chilly days on the Monterey Bay. You don't have to leave the civilized world behind just because you're on a tour boat. Many things you enjoy on land disappears when you go on a tour with some other boats. But not with us, from 110 AC for charging your camera battery to hot water for washing your hands we offer all the amenities of a comfortable cruise on our vessel. Our flooring is carpeted and our large boarding ladder makes it easy to get on/off to our vessel for everyone. A full galley to cater any special events, an educational and entertaining kids corner, 3 guest cabins for overnight trips and 3 bathrooms are just a few other extras only offered by Blue Ocean Whale Watch. Our Whale Watching trips are fully narrated and 100% of our trips are run by owners. With 49 guest capacity we are not the largest nor the smallest boat on the bay, but we are the only luxury vessel offering Whale Watching tours with a WOW effect. Dignified Burials at Sea (Ash Scattering) ceremonies to fun Birthday parties or for any Special Event we are the experts to turn your daily outing into an unforgettable memory.Come join us and experience our difference.

We booked the 10am trip on a Friday. I was able to book the night before. The 30’ boat has 3 levels – the top is open and can accommodate 8, the middle floor can accommodate about 24 seated as well as room in the front and back outside. The boat holds 48 I believe and we had about 30... More

It was a light group of whale watching seekers. It was great because I could move all around the boat and didn't have to jockey for railing to get a photograph. The whales and dolphins were abundant on our trip. It was very cool to see a couple of Mola Mola (ocean sunfish). Since, they are hard to see when... More

When we decided to take a whale watching cruise out of Moss Landing, we had a couple of options. After check out websites for the cruises, we decided to go with Blue Ocean Whale Watch. What a great experience we had. Each and every member of the crew was friendly and helpful and the naturalist, Kate, was great. We saw... More

Booked this back in November but they needed to cancel because of bad weather, just got around to some free time, it was well worth the wait . Excellent crew, Kate is very informative and very knowledgeable !! Headed out right on time, the ocean was just a lil choppy, if you do get motion sick they do have white... More

Having read the reviews, we dressed up warmly and joined the boat. Not too far from Monterey and simple to find. Very knowledgable crew, clean boat that felt safe and well maintained. Altogether a great trip. The Captain knew where the Whales were or were likely to be and we followed (not too close) behind a number. Great sights, and... More

A friend and I took this 4 hour trip at the end of August on a Thursday morning. The action from sea mammals and birds was non-stop. Excellent biologist guides and they take photos that are available online so you don't have to waste time with a camera. There was a whale that was caught in a crab boat line,... More

Headed out in the am with clear weather and about 30 total passengers. The crew was knowledgeable and helpful. We saw a school of dolphins (about 50) within about 5 minutes then we saw our 1st humpback within 7 minutes...we were stoked! Well it just kept getting better. The highlight was sitting in neutral for about 45 minutes with 6... More

If you want to have an awesome time whale watching this is the crew to do it with. Everyone was so nice and helpful. We saw so much when we went out. I spent two days with them and I would definitely go back and do it again.

Kate and all of the great crew make this trip wonderful. We went on three trips in one week and each was different and a lot of fun. Even though it's called Blue Ocean Whale Watch it truly is so much more. I can't wait to see how they grow. I plan on going back anytime I'm in the area.

We live on the east coast and own a boat. We see dolphins on a regular basis and an occasional whale in the Atlantic. So going on a Whale and Dolphin Watch was sure to be nice while we were by the Pacific. Holy Mammals were we surprised how AMAZING this trip was. It was less than 15 minutes out... More
