We took a 10:30am tour and loved every minute. Captain and naturalist on board were entertaining and informative, but the wildlife sightings were awesome! It was a beautiful day and we saw lots of sea otters, sea lions and seals, herons, pelicans, cormerants and some other rarer species, as well as a huge jellyfish. The tour was $35/pp plus a... More

My two teen children and I were all looking forward to this pontoon boat ride, and were not disappointed at all. We were all impressed, and had a great time. At first, I thougth 1-1/2 to 2 hours might be too much, but it certainly wasn't. We saw soo many types of wildlife, water life, and the Captain and his... More

We were kayaking and some of us in our group noticed their boat go right up to a sea otter. It was surprising to witness this as I think there are laws to protect our wildlife from boaters and kayakers getting so close? But later as we were taking pictures of the large group of sea lions resting on shore... More

Some adventurers need calm waters rather than the open Pacific Ocean coast line to explore sea lions and seals. This is a very stable way to get out on the water but not the waves and white caps. Lots of wildlife to see and soak up the relaxing scenery.

The Elkhorn Slough has an abundance of wildlife! Captain Yohn is excellent at identifying the birds seen on the trip as well as the other wildlife. Every season has something different to offer for birders, and the mammals - sea otters, harbor seals, and sea lions - are always there. We enjoy the photography on the trip so much that... More

We enjoyed our pontoon safari and the captain and his mate were well informed and made the trip enjoyable. They identified all the birds that we saw by their proper names and also made counts of the sea lions, seals, and otters that were seen. I recall we saw over 89 sea otters and 250 plus sea lions and numerous... More

Others have summarized this well. On our trip, we saw ~100 sea otters and seals and hundreds of sea lions. The trip is wonderful for birders. The crew is familiar with the local and exotic birds. The captain was quick to point out birds to the birders on the boat and navigate the boat for a better picture, when possible.

If like me you love sea otters and want to see them up close, this is the tour for you. We saw 66 otters (including baby pups!), 100+ seals, sea lions, and birds (note, I am not really a bird person so I cannot comment on how good the bird watching was). I wish I could have stayed out there... More

Our group would have liked to stay out on the water for another 2 hours. Our Captain was not only a wealth of information about the birds and wildlife, but also was very aware of good photo opportunities and kept considerations such as good lighting in mind, for the benefit of those of us with cameras.
