We went with our son and two grandsons and had a great time. The wildlife was plentiful and the guide was knowledgeable. Be sure to dress warmly because it was windy and cool for our tour. Coming in against the wind there was also a little spray in the air to add to the chill.

The trip, by boat (specially built for wildlife viewing), was billed as a photography tour, and lived up to its name. There are plenty of birds (pelicans, grebes, shorebirds) and mammals (otters, sea lions, seals) to fill up your memory cards, and the captain/guide was friendly, accommodating to all the photographers (of several skill levels), and informative. The day started... More

Our tour viewed 50 some sea otters including pups. This tour was expertly conducted with great respect for the seal life. It's cold and windy so dress accordingly. Be sure to use the rest room on the dock before departure. There is a parking fee of $6. We had a full boat but seating was comfortable. Narration was appropriate and... More

My wife and I LOVED this boat tour. Booking was easy, and the Captain and Naturalist narrator were very friendly and excellent tour guides. The amount of wildlife and the angle of view we had was amazing. The Captain and Naturalist do a phenomenal job of explaining what you're seeing and the history of the Elkhorn Slough. They did a... The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The boat and gear was well maintained. We saw numerous birds and marine mammals. In March, we saw several sea otter pups. We appreciate tours that respect nature. The animals were given plenty of distance from our boat. Don't bother with the binocular rental. Be sure to take your own. Theirs were difficult... More

We sailed on Elkhorn Slough with a salty captain and a spunky cabin girl narrator, and it was one of the most fun such tours we have ever done. There are birds galore, of great variety, about twelve tourists per boat, and you feel like you are in early America, free of city cares and awful construction greed. A great... More

This is the second time I've done the Elkhorn Slough Safari, and both times have been amazing! What a wonderful opportunity to get up close to some of California's most stunning amd beautiful wildlife. Both the Captain and the naturalist are friendly and knowledgeable, and were great with the kids who were on board. Although I went in March this... More

My wife and I, our daughter and her husband and our two grandsons ages 6 and 3 all really enjoyed this Elkhorn Slough adventure. They use a large pontoon boat which is stable and comfortable. The captain and a naturalist lead the tour and are knowledgeable and often funny. They had activities for the kids to keep them involved. They... More

A small water craft designed to travel into the estuary at Moss Landing with superb, knowledgeable crew. A must for anyone wanting to see the local wildlife. The Captain pointed out the peregrine falcon perched high on a fishing boat in the harbour.
