Brian is a fantastic and informative guide who makes the tour fun. The boat is small and luxurious with ample viewing opportunities. We saw sea lions lolling on the shore, sea otters with babies and many birds and Brian described the environment both on water and on land. We had a small and jolly band of adventurers on the boat... Every time we were in the marina at Moss Landing we commented on going on this excursion. So very glad we finally went. Well worth the money for the 2 hour motor into this historical and nature outing. Our young guide was enthusiastic and kept the younger members of our group engaged. We saw great rafts of otters, families of... More

A wonderful, relaxing, educational two hour excursion into Elkhorn Slough, just north of Moss Landing Harbor. Our onboard naturalist was Maggie, a delightful Senior at UC Santa Cruz, studying Marine Biology. The 27 foot pontoon boat provided comfort and accessibility for viewing the marine life on, in and around the slough. A great family trip. We will undoubtedly take this... More

My husband and I have taken both of our families on this boat trip when they came to visit. You can see lots of birds and adorable sea otters. There's a naturalist on-board to tell you about what you're seeing and help you appreciate the diverse wildlife. This inland waterway is very calm, so it's suitable for people prone to... More

I have lived in the Bay area for over 30 years, but never got to Elkhorn Slough until a few years ago. Since then, we have taken ourselves and guests on Captain Yohn's boat several times. Elkhorn Slough is by far the best place to see sea otters in the wild. While many folks love kayaking the slough, the winds... More

My husband and I loved every minute of this trip. The amount of wildlife we saw was more than I could have imagined (over 80 sea otters alone!). Great for photography, really informative and energetic tour guides. We would do this again if/when we come back to the area.

It was a sunny, mild Sunday, and we set off with great expectations...and we experienced even more wonderful sights than we'd hoped for! We saw a raft of otters...many, many, many otters, some sleeping, some eating, some playing...even saw a mother and baby eating and resting. We saw many white herons, egrets nesting in eucalyptus trees, cormorants, so much wildlife.... More

I decided to take the Elkhorn Slough Safari since I was injured and not able to kayak up the slough. The tour was very informative, relaxing and we saw a ton of wild life. The boat captain and the guide were full of knowledge and answered all the questions which came up. This is great for all types of vacationers,... More

First time seeing sea otters, and it sure was fun! We could not kayak, hence we did this..but I am glad we did this. The crew was great, they allowed to move around take pics. Explained everything in great detail. The weather was awesome so we enjoyed the 2 plus hours ride.

We had a great time out in the Slough. There were about twenty of us on the boat and we were given instructions prior to boarding the boat. . We had a wonderful naturalist who was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. The two men who run the boat also had a wealth of information. They provide... More
