Our first experience was with the "Sub-Sea Tour" We headed straight over to an area near the shore where fish were known to hang out. The captain put the boat into a tight spin and we rotated for about 20 minutes in one place while they tried to scare up some fish. The underwater viewing area smelled like bilge and... More

You can only imagine the chances you'll have to actually see a whale in its habitat. Realistically the odds are against you but we decided to take the risk and pre booked a Saturday lunchtime trip. We left at 1300 for a three hour trip being realistic. As we left the harbour we saw water spouts in the distance and... More

Captain Kevin was great. We knew before we headed out that it is late in the season to see whales so I was not expecting more than a beautiful 3hour tour, Captain Kevin called every other vessel and searched the ocean abroad until he found our whale. Our kids had a blast. He was able to maneuver the boat so... More

My wife and I went on their whale watching excursion. Kevin was our skipper and Dakota was his whale lookout. Although we could see spouts in the distance, the whales vanished, by the time we approached. We did see a whale's tale, but it was hard to see. We did see a group of dolphins, which was very cool. At... More

We took our 11-year old granddaughter on this whale watching trip at the end of July this year. It was the 12:30 tour. The sea was quite choppy and it took a long long time to catch sight of any humpbacks, but the skipper was amazing. He handled the boat so well and persevered to find us those whales. And... More

We opted for this tour as the Whale Watching Tours were sold out. We were originally told that no reservations were needed and it was first come first served, only to find out that is not true. We took three young kids. The bottom is neat, but we were told we would see many different fish. Not true! They make... More

My husband and I initially took one of the Subsea tours on our honeymoon in 2008, and it was great! The captain was an older gentleman, who is very informative and entertaining. I had a high expectations when I took our four-year-old daughter on the same tour this weekend, because of the previous experience. However, this tour was with a... More

We took this cruise in the late afternoon when there are fewer fish to see under the bay, but it was still absolutely worth it. The boat tour starts on the top deck where we got a close-up view of the sea lions that live in the bay and the sea otters. About half-way through the cruise, we went down... More

We went on the 9:00 am whale watching excursion. Our captain was Keith. He and his assistant, Dakota, were very funny, and extremely knowledgeable about the Morro Bay area and the local marine life. We were able to watch 2 male Humpback Whales feeding near to us the entire time we were out. It was amazing. The only downside is... More

This was the highlight of a two-week trip to California. First, when storm system was approaching, they offered to rebook in the morning versus the afternoon. They refunded the money back easily for the 2 people they didn't have slots for. Communication was easy. But, most of all, the biologist on the boat was very knowledgeable and friendly, and commented... More
