So cool to find sand dollars on a beach!

Stopped here for pizza picnic at sunset. Had just enough light to hunt for some sand dollars. Huge beach with very few people on it for a Tuesday night.

There is surfing near Morrow Rock. Sand Dollars are common, and you will see Sandpipers, Pelicans, and Gulls in abundance. The beach is clean but a lot of kelp washes ashore, bringing sand fleas. This area can have large waves. A better swimming area for children might be on the south side of Morrow Rock where there is a small... More

Where else can you have a miles long lovely beach practically all to yourself?! And the stretch of beach between Morro Bay and Cayucos is Horse and DOG friendly and often a great place to find sand dollars.

We took the boogie boards from our vacation rental down to this beach, with our 11 year old granddaughter. She had the time of her life. The beach is sandy and spacious with many shells and rocks to find, which was a thrill for her. Even sand dollars. The only problem we had was my husband losing his swim shorts... More

Gorgeous strip of beach, been traveling here since we got married, brought our kids here for 20 years, not until traveling with grandson of 12, that we discovered this absolutely beautiful and safe strand of beach....................

Heading South on Hwy 1, take the 24th St exit (careful - comes up quick and is a pretty sharp turn). Follow down to beach. Free parking, bathrooms, a few picnic tables. Walk for miles on beach. Boogie board. No life guards.

Clean and enjoyable for the whole family, we usually get a motel in town to enjoy the beach and the fine dining around town

This was an excellent beach for the family. It was a quiet beach with nice sand and thousands of washed up sand dollars. The surf is very flat so you go wade out for 30 to 40 yards and still be at your waist.

You are right by the beach when you camp here.We camped in a tent. I does get windy so try to pick a spot that has some trees to block the beach wind. The campsites are small but adequate. One comes here for the beach and not the camping sites. The restrooms have flush toilets. There are no showers. The... More

Pros: great weather, not crowded, seashells, clean bathroom. Cons: small parking lot, dogs off leashes a lot.
